Looking for Spyder RT waterproof bag that will fit back seat without passenger

Looking for a bag that is waterproof that I can put in the backseat when I don't have a passenger. I have the ultimate seat with drive backrest. I have looked at a few dealers and can't find anything that fits correctly and thought I would ask here.

Most of their models fit in the passenger seat, and I have a Corbin with Backrest. I used to have the OEM seat with Utopia backrest. I own their Pet Carrier and it fits snug but with the backrest, it secures the bag (and it's contents... woof, woof!) even more.

I also considered that option but the seat would not stay up for fuel fill. I have since replaced the gas shock under the seat with a stronger on to hold up the seat better.

I just turn the handlebars all the way right and let the seat rest on them while I fuel up.

Keep a wooden stick (dowel) under your seat to hold it proped up

I remember with the first cars from Japan (had a Datsun) came with those gas shocks to hold the trunk (boot) open. They lasted like 4 months then would not do the job. At that time they were pretty expensive to replace too! Had to carry a stick in the trunk Later those issues got resolved with the early gas shocks but they never worked right when they first came out.

Cabela's has great dry duffel bags in a variety of sizes. Have a rather large one I use on the seat of BMW.

I have used the "Rapid transit platoon bag" for several years, on Goldwings and 2 RT's. It sets on the back seat and goes nowhere if you have a backrest. It is wind and water resistant, and has several outside pockets for small articles. It is also expandable, and will hold a few days worth of clothes, or whatever. Usually sells around $90 and is a good buy. Highly recommended.

I have a large barrel bag from bikersfriend.com. Initially I tried a medium, but it was too small. The large fits perfectly on the passenger seat of my 2012 RT. I've never had to tie it to the passenger grips. It also makes a great back rest. I carry a large plastic bag that i slip over it in case it rains.

What bag did you get from t-bag? I'm looking into purchasing one too and would love to see a pic of it in your backseat, if you have one I'm debating over the Route 66 Roller Bag or their Cross Country Travel Bag... I'm trying to get an idea of what will actually fit and what it will look like... Thanks!

I ended up getting the Kuryakyn 4141 Black GranTour Bag and it fits great on the backseat of my spyder with the Ultimate Seat and Backrest.

Very nice looking bag but I prefer a bag which does not require a rain cover... so am partial to the Outlieb or Cabela's style dry duffels. My view is if you are travelling enough, your are going to meet up with rain. I prefer not to have to fined a dry place to stop, dig out a rain cover and put it on.

Just my $.02. Not meant too poo-poo your choice (was going to say 'rain on your parade'... too cheesy ) Just sharing my thought process on MC touring bags.

It may not have looked "Classy", but on my '09 GS, I used a gym bag inside of a garbage bag and held on with a bungee. It didn't cost that much, either.
