• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for Recipe -- Dry Cider

Ok ... collective spyderlovers, I am an active home brewer (as in beer, 5 gallons at a time). A couple of years ago, while in the UK, I absolutely fell in love with hard dry carbonated cider and have been looking for a "tried and true" recipe ever since. This would need to come out something like "Angry Orchard" or "Redd's Apple Ale" -- it is NOT at all like Martinelli's Sparkling Cider (that's way too sweet and has no "hardness" to it). While I've found a couple online, I hesitate to use them as do not know anyone that has actually tried them.

Thus, I turn to our large and diverse group to see if .... just MAYBE there is another home brewer with a great cider recipe they would like to share. If not publicly, at least privately via PM.

Thanks ..... Ann

ToM .... sadly, cannot make Spyderfest this year (wish I could). Is the Michigan Spyder Cider of your own creation? Are you able to describe the cider? Is it carbonated? I'm sure I'll think of more questions, you have definitely peaked my interest!

Best Regards .... Ann

The cider is made by a local winery. I never had any so I don't know if its carbonated. I took a jug of the cider to the MoGang fall ride and they rename it Spyder Cider.
