Looking for GOOD Spyder mechanic

I live in the Philadelphia suburbs. Does anyone know of a GOOD AND COMPETENT mechanic or dealer? I just purchased a used 2008 in another state and need to get it serviced.

GOOD MECHANICS ARE LIKE GOOD DOCTORS. HARD TO FIND. THE DIFFERENCE IS THE DOCTORS CAN BURY THEIR MISTAKES.
SORRY, I'M IN CENTRAL FLA, AND CAN;T HELP YOU BUT CAN COMMENSURATE WITH YOU IN FINDING SOMEONE WITH TALENT YOU CAN TRUST TO WORK ON YOUR MACHINE. I JUST GOT A 2012 RT THAT JUST HAD ITS 600 MI. CHECK UP.
YOU KNOW WHEN YOU GET THAT GUT FEELING THAT THINGS WEREN'T ALL DONE LIKE IN THE BOOK. WELL THAT IS THE WAY I FEEL. THEN WHEN I WENT TO CHECK ON THE OIL LEVEL I FIND SECURITY SCREWS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TUPPERWARE COVERS.WHILE I NEVER LOOKED THAT CLOSE TO SEE IF THEY WERE ALWAYS THERE, IT WOULD SEEM ODD THAT WHILE IT IS DIFFICULT ENOUGH TO GET TO THE DIP STICK TO CHECK THE OIL LEVEL THAT ONE WOULD HAVE TO JUMP THAT HURTLE ALSO.
I GUESS WHAT I AM SAYING IS WE BOTH HAVE TO DO OUR HOMEWORK AND TRY TO FIND
SOMEONE TO TRUST TO WORK ON YOUR MACHINE GOOD LUCK

Don't loosen the security screws, just pull up on them. They are push pins and not meant to be loosened. :lecturef_smilie:

You check the oil by removing the panel below and ahead of the security screws. Perhaps your first search should be for a dealer who will instruct you on the care and feeding of your Spyder...or you could just break down and read the manual.

Jim is a nice guy and CJ is the main mechanic. Hope that helps.

:agree: Reading the manual might be as much fun as an IRS audit, but it is filled with valuable information. It won't cover all of the bases, so you'll still need the good dealer.

But at least all of the basics are covered... :thumbup:

i have been a A.S.E Master technician for over ten years now been working on bikes and cars never realy like going to stealers i mean dealers LOL thinks are not that hard to do i o all my own work but do research there are a lot of monkeys out there even more when it comes to bikes
