Looking for advice on adding highway pegs.

Greetings. I'm new to the forum. Found it when looking for information regarding cures for my recently acquired 2014 RTS SE6 wandering around like a flying squirrel at freeway speeds. Got some good info from the forum that helped some but the problem was completely cured with new front tires and a laser alignment. Handles beautifully now. I'm transitioning from a Harley ultra to the Spyder to keep us riding 2 up in our senior years. I'm adapting quickly to 3 wheels and have begun to accessorize. So far added some additional lighting, an air horn, rack on the rear box, Sena 20s for the helmets, and some luggage accessories. I want to add a set of highway pegs but none of the vendor adds actually show a set installed on the Spyder so it's difficult to visualize how they actually fit to the bike and how they will look once installed. Any advice on which brand for easy installation and rider comfort will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Wuzfuzz, Welcome aboard. I have some pictures of the NBV style Lamonster sells on mine in the picture gallery, maybe page 4 along with all my other Farkles. He also has a style that mounts to the floor boards but they will splay your legs out farther. safe riding!

Pegs

Check into a brand of floorboards from web boards . They have the pegs built right in and you can really put your weight on them ( the peg portion ) going down the road and in the curves . I use them to push against my backrest to raise my butt off the seat for cooling. Not cheap but they really work , extremely happy with mine. If you just want pegs I have my Laminated pegs I took off and will sell cheap.

My advice is to check out the Lamonster NBV (No Bad Vibrations) Highway pegs, very durable, look good and comfortable.

I put RIVCO mounts on my 2014 RT-S. They look good, mount easily, are strong with great adjustability. I bought them from a Minnesota accessories supplier and got free shipping. You would also avoid sales tax. Both are significant expenses on something as heavy and expensive as these are.

I'm pretty sure that you've got to pop the rubber off of the floorboards, and then drill mounting holes; in order to attach the NBV brackets...

I have the LaMonster pegs on my RT. Very functional, and very easy to install, just have to remove the rubber from the floorboards and drill a couple of holes. (While I was in there, I also drilled holes in each floorboard for eyebolts to hang my gremlin bells :) )

Looking for advice on highway pegs

I got the NBV with web pegs. I liked the look and they are sturdy. I can shift weight around a little bur I'm 6', 250 lbs. so if I shift big time my feet are on the Rivco boards I put on. I had to do no drilling but I think I had to trim plastic cover underneath?? There are pictures on here somewhere but I'm tech/site challenged. Welcome aboard and happy web spinning.:spyder:

Lamonster NBV

Lamonster NBV pegs require no drilling at all. You can check out the installation video on his website. He also offers several peg options with this mounting. I bought a set at Spyderfest and brought them home and installed them. I couldn't be happier.

Pegs dont offer enough distance

In looking at all these pegs - they don't seam to allow you to really stretch your legs. They seam to only lift a couple of inches, and out a few inches.

I'm 6,2 with bad knees, I need to straighten the legs out.

Any suggestions

Indiana Ken, you are correct about the positioning of your feet / legs. Im short and like them but my buddy didn't so he still bought the NBV kit but left his lower rain shields off and reversed the angled bracket, swung the arm down, lowered them down and added some mini foot boards. He loves it - full leg stretch and lowered, not raised. He can almost rst his heel on the factory floorboards when he use's them. We ran in a bunch of rain deferent times and he noticed no difference with the shields off. He is going to maybe make a mini cover to hide the gap that was left by not puttingn the lower deflectors back on. He didnt want to cut them. safe riding.
