• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for a technique to get to the rear tires valve stem - anyone?

:oldpost:

Anyhow, just FYI

Stiff enough to grip fairly easily (shouldn’t need pliers, depending on your stem/thread conditions)
Easily carried in your tool roll (with extra caps protecting the threads)

The rear pulley can fit to the wheel in 5 positions. Only 1 position gives (the factory position) gives 'easier' access to the valve stem. I've noticed on other 2 or 3 other Spyders in my area that the sprocket has been incorrectly positioned at tyre change time. I also fit a 2" stem to the wheel, which gives somewhat easier access and is flexible enuff for the hose connector to go either inside or outside the pulley.

Has anyone put on the 90 degree extension? If so how much clearance do you have from the wheel to the brake caliper or belt depending on which side you have it facing?

A 90 degree valve was not available ... I did use one from Kurveygirl, and it was listed as 87 degrees.... no matter .... At my first rear tire change I drilled a new valve hole on the other side of the wheel .... it has to be at least one inch in from the BEAD area to insure the tire change machine doesn't hit it .... removed the OEM valve and filled the hole with Bondo and painted it .... I did the valve change twice more, but just left the OEM in place ....Mike

I'm totally new to the Spyder world and I was a bit surprised as to how difficult it was to get at the rear valve stem.

I already had one of these below as part of my air compressor system in the garage. It's super flexible and works great, especially with the swivel ball connector. I added an air chuck of course.

I do have to get down on my hands and knees, actually, laying on the garage floor is the best way to do it, for me.

I have one of these with a quick disconnect. It also works well on my Kawasaki KRX SxS with recessed valve stems.
