• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Looking at going from Goldwing to a Spyder RT

Glad to hear you were wearing all protective gear during the fall. You're a smart person for doing so, I cringe everytime I see someone without protective gear. I hope your injuries heal well and that you'll be up and running in no time. Shame on people for drinking and driving...

I hope you find the vehicle you were looking for in the Spyder. I'm saving up myself to be able to afford even the basic Spyder RT. Good luck and have fun~!

I doubt this will help you much, but here goes. I am not a tech so this is just the way I did it...(had it done actually, I said I was a tech dummy). On my 2011 RT-S, I had a 660, XM and CB and they worked well. I do not listen to the GPS talk, don't like hear it and I was hard wired into my 2011 Spyder (wire to helmet) and liked it. When I traded for Mr. Cognac the dealer said I needed a different wiring harness to trade my CB/XM over to the 2014....dealer received the harness yesterday and I will take Mr. Cognac in soon for CB/XM hookup. I hope it all works as it did on my 2011. We will see.

I still have my '02 (Punkin') Wing. It has been a flawless machine and I could not get much for it so I kept it. CB but no XM on Punkin'. Both trikes are great, the '14 is 35% better than my '11. On the Interstate it is a toss up on which trike I like better, maybe my Motor Trike....on the hill country roads west of Boerne, Mr. Cognac is better....kinda like having two children, each is different, but we love both equally....

I'm glad you weren't seriously injured and hope you heal quickly. I am formerly a winger (29 years). Based on medical advice, I switched from 2 wheels to 3 wheels in 2012. First went to a 2012 Spyder RTS SE5 and rode it 2 up with my wife on the back. I loved all the features of the Spyder but after about 2000 miles I reluctantly admitted that it just wasn't comfortable for me and that I needed to make a switch to a different ride. Since my wife did not like just being a passenger she quickly took sole possession of the Spyder. She tells me and everybody she meets that she absolutely loves the Spyder and I now have a 2013 Harley Tri Glide. Prior to us purchasing the Spyder, she rode a Yamara V-Star 1100.

At the time of purchase, our Spyder dealer installed the BRP CB and Garmin GPS on the Spyder. My Harley has the factory installed CB. We always use the CBs and the transmission is crystal clear on both trikes. My wife listens to her Ipod while riding and the CB transmission mutes the Ipod completely. She rarely uses the GPS and when she does she prefers to use the "turn by turn" feature. We had trouble hearing the audio from the GPS from the beginning and never got it to work like we thought it should. We both use J&M headsets in our full face helmets.

Perhaps my age had something to do with my failure to be comfortable on the Spyder. I had begun to have discomfort with the seating position on my 2001 GL1800 before I sold it. The Harley seating position is much more comfortable for me than either the Wing or the Spyder. I must admit that I miss the Wing which was much quieter and smoother than the Harley and it was rock solid reliable. I owned 3 Wings over the 29 year period and none of them ever left me stranded. My recommendation to you is test ride a Spyder as much as you can and be sure you are comfortable on it. The Spyder RTS, Honda Gold Wing GL1800 and Harley Tri Glide are distinctly different machines with different personalities. Each has its strong points and weaknesses.

Wing to Spyder

Glad to hear you are ok. That was some experience.
I went from a 2003 Goldwing to a 2008 Spyder GS Roadster.
Best thing I ever did.
In my view, the Spyder is tops.:ohyea::agree::spyder2::yes:
