• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Looking at a Used 2014 RT Limited - is it worth it?

I am just starting to look for a Spyder. Always had two-wheelers but age suggests 3 might be a better fit for me now. Looking for an RT in the $12k range. I have been looking at eBay, Cycletrader and here but not finding as many choices as I had hoped for. Any other suggestions? Beside patience?
We found Peggy's 2013 STS-SM5 on Cycle Trader, but there were a bunch of newer ones too. Prices all over the place.

Oledog56 -- Wow that RT-L looks stunning. One owner, dealer serviced, reputable dealer -- I'm looking forward to pictures of you and your wife riding it this Spring.

I called the dealership and spoke to a salesman, they sold the bike new, one owner, they did all the service work on it and have all the paper work on all repairs. They have 350 mile warranty on used equip, willing to store it for free until spring if I decide buy it, they would also deliver it for a fee, 13500.00 over the phone, but a visit to the dealer with some serious dealing, maybe I could get them to go lower, you never know. Salesman said they have Spyders out there up to 90.000 miles on them, still running. I did a check on their reputation as a dealer, they have an outstanding reputation.

Here's a pic of the bike.

I'm confused ..... is this the SAME spyder you originally posted about ????? or a different spyder from a dealer ...... Mike

Different machine Mike. I'm pretty sure the latest one Oledog is referring to is the red 2015 RT first mentioned in post #12 & then shown in post #17, not the 2014 mentioned in the Original Post.

It's a different Spyder Blueknight, the 1st one I was looking at was a 2014, after I described it, most suggested to stay away from it because of its condition, then I located the 2015 red one on a dealers website. But my wife is concerned about the 49000 miles on it.

I wouldn't worry about it. That's on the order of 8k to 10k per year if ridden regularly. That's better than 10k and then sitting for 4 years with no miles being put on. Regular riding with regular maintenance is the best way to treat any vehicle. Total miles is secondary.

Last Fall, got a 2014 RT Limited with low mileage, fancy seat, and driver backrest for 14000. Only needed a rear tire and battery. Took a 4000 mile road trip.

Well after all the searching for a good used Spyder in our budget and asking questions about Spyders, the wife has put a hold on buying a Spyder for now :( Thanks again for all you input!

Just for a comparison; we got our 2014 RT Limited in October 2017 with 6800 miles for 16500. It came with Wolo horn, sport windscreen with vent, brake light on top case, Baja Ron sway bar, floor boards, LED turn signals over mirrors.

And of course the standard worn out Kenda rear tire at that mileage. :bdh: Otherwise, mint condition.

yup bought my 2014 with 30k for $10.5k and I was estatic...couldn't care less about the miles -he was a a good owner. Purchased 9/20
