• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

locked kews in the trunk

I have locked mine in before. I always take my key out and immediately put it in my pants pocket. The problem, I was at the beach going swimming and took my pants off without even giving a second thought to my habit. As soon as I closed the trunk, I realized what I did. Had to borrow a friends vehicle to drive the 45 minutes back home to get the spare key. Rather embarrassing. Hard to impress the ladies when you make yourself look foolish. :joke:

thanks for all the replies,
what had happended was I had several layers of clothing on because it was cold outside. was having a bad morning. Jeep wouldn't start and my truck had a dead battery, so I was taking the spyder as a last resort,
had an appointment for a hair cut before my Union Christmas Party.
get to the hair cut place and put my Jacket into the trunk and my keys in a shirt pocket. But than I decided to strip a few more layers of clothing off so I didn't get hair on them during the hair cut. so off went the shirt and into the truck my Keys went.

like I said before, it was way too simple to pop the lock with a coat hanger. I can go up to any spyder and pop the trunk in less than 30 sec. But I did have to make a trip to the dealership to actually look at the locking mechanism to see how to do it.
again many thanks.
Mark

I still would like to see BRP drill a key ring hole in the key without damaging the chip. Wearing it as a lanyard is good but there is no positive securement, not with the stupid plastic sleeve. I learned the hard way and out of nearly $90 ordering, cutting, and coding a new key. You can have an emergency key cut to open the trunk only and carry that in your wallet.

One scenario bone crusher. You ride somewhere. Stop to walk about a bit. Open the trunk to get out a few things. Pull the key and put it in your jacket pocket. Just as you are going to close the trunk, you decide that its a bit too warm to wear your jacket so you toss it in the trunk. Close the trunk and take off for your walk. Come back and search your pants pockets for the key. :yikes: Then you realize what you've done. :(

:agree: Almost happened to me on numerous occasions lol
