• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well there is still 2.5' of snow in my backyard and I want to ride!! But in the meantime, I'm going to be putting some tunes on my 08 GS.
I have seen some really nice pics in the How to forum, which I may duplicate... But I'm curious how it really does sound. Another question I have is to all the RT owners.... Is your system nice? did you upgrade the speakers? does it have some thump? (I realize its not a car) "lol", but I'm really interested in what ever I do design that it doesn't sound like an alarm clock and tinny.... If It will sound like that with 2 or 4 speakers on my GS, do I bother and just stick with the headphones?

I guess what I'm hoping to see in replies are from the RT owners... How do you like your tunes? From the Mod people.... How do you like your tunes?

Thanks so much for your help and input...

Changed my speaker front and rear to polk audio sounds better I tune in to pandora and slacker radio with my phone.I have an RTS

I think a Good pair of ear buds are better for your ears health.
Music thru ear buds at a Moderate Level covers up about 80% of the engine noise and wind noise and the actual decibels of sound would Not be hazardous to your health!
Now Loud Speakers and Engine Noise and wind noise is a hazard to your hearing health IMO.

This is from someone who wears ear buds in spinning classes JUST to knock down the awful hazardous level of music they feel they have to pump out to motivate people?

Realizing that my 2010's volume level was almost NEVER below the loud as possible setting... :opps:
I LIKED it; and I tink that I'll like the 2014 system even better! :2thumbs:
I don't know how anybody could ever have blown out a speaker, if I couldn't...
My tastes in music is pretty much unfit for human consumption:
AC/DC
Black Sabbath
And Ozzy as a soloist
B.O.C.
Nugent
ZZ Top
Rainbow
Yngwie Malmsteen
Joe Satriani
Rory Gallagher
Robon Trower
Johnny Winter
Jimi Hendrix
Iron Butterfly
Mahogany Rush
For the moments that I MIGHT feel like something soft...
Tull
Pink Floyd
Aerosmith

So; it's bangin', if I'm on the bike! :2thumbs:

Nice Bob, that's what I'm looking for... my music tastes are the same.... Tunes are a huge part of who I am, so I want to have them on my Spyder too. My Corolla has separates front and back with an amazing head unit that talks to me, and a glass breaking sub set up in the trunk.... I see the subs on some splyders to but I don't want to miss the space in the frunk...

thank again for the input.

I've gone as far as thinking about upgrading to J&Ms; but have pulled up short so far... :D
This one is always good for getting the blood pumping in the morning! :2thumbs:

Amboy Dukes?
MC5?
Deep Purple?

I have two inch speakers on my 2008 and regret not getting four inch. Notwithstanding ear buds which are illegal here in CA not sure about a set of Bose noise canceling buds the wife got me for x-mas.

If it's loud and fast; it's in that little "Saltine Cracker" that holds the noise!

music and speakers

Mr Denman i am new to the site i just traded in my 2006 roadliner on it i had a 200 watt pioneer stereo 6 by 9 rockford fosgate speakers i have a usb device i used now 4 gigs lots of room left i also have a ipod which i intend to use on new2014 rts with same music on it was wondering how the sound out of the stock speakers is it sounds like the are good speakers as i really dont want to change anything on bike yet and have alot of the same music as u do.

Please; I'm just a "Bob"...
Or, "That loud-mouthed :cus: chatterbox!" :D

Nothing will compete with those 6x9s, that you had on your old bike...
But the sound quality of the 2014's speakers does seem better than in previous years...
Try them out, and crank it up; there's always J&Ms, or Polks as upgrades!

speakers

Thanks bob for the input on speakers since i wear hearing aids i tend to turn music up a little to high for the wife an others but thats ok they will get over it.
