• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello to everyone. I'm new to the Spyder world and am Happy to have found this forum. I found the post below from September 2013 by member chuck gross but I have been unable to find the solution. Can anyone help as I'm faced with this issue. I've checked all ground wires and traced wire connections to lights. I've checked plugs and fuses and find nothing out of order to my knowledge. Any help is appreciated. My fender lights are also out. Here is the post I saw from September 2013.

My tail lights and license plate lights all the sudden quit working the brake lights and blinkers are working. I checked the fuse and it is fine so i pulled some of the back wheel liner bolts loose and looked inside I pushed the multi plugs tight together and none of them seem to be loose. anybody have any ideas?

Edit: It's from this Thread: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums...l-lights-and-license-plate-lights-not-working

Hey Deme. So, this circuit is fairly straight forward. Fuse F1, in the front fuse box feeds a number of things, In this case, power comes from F1, through a dedicated line, directly to the ignition switch. No relays are involved. When the ignition switch is turned to ON, a set of contacts closes and energizes the circuit feeding those four groups of lights. Those contacts are also dedicated to this circuit and don't feed anything else. Again, no relays involved at this point, either. Those four groups of lights are:

- the plate light
- the tail lights
- the fender tip lights
- and the Day Lights. Those are those little round LED lights that are in the upper corners of your headlight housing

If all four of those lights are out, then the common denominator is either Fuse F1, the ignition switch contacts, or a very smart rodent that chewed on just the right wire.

I know you said that you checked the fuses, but just to be conservative, replace Fuse F1 in the front fuse box with a brand new fuse. If there is still no joy, then it's either the wiring or the switch. I would start with a wiring inspection in the vicinity of the ignition switch area, since that is where the common wire would be.

If it comes to the point that you have to replace the ignition switch, that can be a real pita. You have the old version of DESS. Officially, a switch replacement also requires a DESS module replacement with the old version of DESS. Not required with the new version of DESS. However, there is a work-around that will avoid that. But, that's another 5 paragraphs so we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

First, replace the fuse and see what happens.

Now might be a good time for you to invest in a repair manual for that machine. You can download one here:
