lights and wind deflectors

I tried my wind deflectors, and got the same result as everyone else, exhaust. Tried a mod of trimming a spot, and it helped, but for now they are off... gonna think on this. There has to be a way...

Also, I think the rs has a dark area on the side, at night, so I added some lights. Fender lights so the width can be seen from the cars behind, and the lower edge of the tupperware below the passenger seat for side lighting. I may add some more. We'll see.

I've logged a thousand miles already, in three weeks. Not bad for a guy that has a hard time walking... :clap:

Brp deflectors

Are very good. T hey are black, molded to fit the contours of the bike. Great leg protection in cool to cold weather. I have a madstad windshield and don't have much of a problem with exhaust. I smell some at times , but to me ,the protection is worth it.

yes, I think they are brp deflectors.

I had a madstad bracket for my Strom windshield. didnt know they did spyder stuff. will look into it.

I installed brp deflectors about a month ago. Got them at a good price free.

Do have issues with exhaust fumes depending on wind direction and shifting rpms.

The higher the rpm the more u smell it.

Have a full face helmet just put shield down about 3/4 of the way don't smell.

Work great and look good. Trade off is worth it :yes:

Nice looking lights, if you want more to light up the front, look into the "Day Runners and Day Pucks". I was having problems with cagers and even worse (Tourists!!!) pulling out of side streets and parking lots, not seeing me and after putting these lights on, its a lot safer riding day and night. I leave them on and they're only off when the key is off.

I experimented with setting the wind deflectors out from the body a quarter inch. bought some steel tube/spacers at the hardware store. The top whole wont line up, so I poked a new hole. They did a great job still, with the wind. The hope was that a bit of air flowing in that new gap would clear the exhaust fumes.

It was a valiant, and if I may say so, also a clever attempt.

It was also a failure!:shocked: I rode about 250 yesterday, and by the end of the day I had a headache still. Could smell the fumes periodically. So, off them come.

exhaust bracket

make a simple flat bracket to go between your muffler and the mounting point, to lower the muffler closer to parallel with the ground.this may allow the exhaust to escape before you smell it, plus, it looks pretty cool too.

i don't think the deflectors have much to do with it. the windshield creates a swirling backdraft that sucks some exhaust forward.

Was thinking about having muffler shop bend me a chrome piece (down spout) to see if that helps.

I do love them and will live with it if i have to. Will run a couple of own experiments.

Like i said i use full face shield. If it gets to bad i just put shield down a little. (takes care of fumes)

Wind deflector

I too installed them and went for a long ride yesterday and I will be taking them off tomorrow , too much fumes for me . Only paid 40.00 bucks for them and now I know why.
