• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for some help. I am looking to add some brake lights to my 2020 RTL. What I would like to get is a light that will flash when it senses deceleration. I had a Volvo light on my BMW that was installed by the former owner so I have no idea how it was installed.

I looked at Volo’s website but it just said to tap into brake light circuit. Will this work on the Can Am without screwing up the stock brake lighting? I think it might work ok, I just need someone to back me up.

Any other ideas will greatly appreciated.

I had a Volo light license plate frame/light on a couple past bikes. You simply tapped into the license plate light. Not sure how the newer ones work?
 
Think I’ll just go for it. I’m worried about the canbus system might think there’s a problem and start throwing errors. Waiting for my trailer hitch and wiring harness to come in, I’ll ask the tech what he thinks.
 
U might want to check out STS smart brake Module and Gear brake module. One of these modules (I forget which) is a simple plug and play install for some Spyders and all Rykers.

I had zachery the same thought!! :yikes: You'd get a real charge in the seat of your pants outta something like that.. Probly put a real sparkle in your eye, too... & make your hair wanta stand on end.... the other end, silly! :rolleyes:

Unless there has been a change in the 2020s vs earlier models, there is no connection between the brake lights and the CANbus.

Yeah, I saw the headline and wondered if it was one letter short or if there was an extra one.

Missing a letter: "lightEning" up the rear end, I was wondering how much weight he wanted to remove.

Extra letter: "lighting" up the rear end, made a bit more sense, and turns out that's the way it went. :thumbup:

I would like to thank everyone for their concerns over the condition of my “rear end”. Everything is as it should be.

Now back to the bike, I don’t think the Volo light will fit. Not enough room at the top. Guess I will look for some other means of “lightning up my rear end”, pun intended. Thanks for the heads up on the STS Smart Brake, I’ll look into that.
 
Yeah, I’m looking for a light that has a deceleration light. If I can’t find something, I’ll just light up the rear end as much as I can.

You might want to check with Spyderpops.com. It doesn’t work on speed reducing though. It a run, brake, turn, strobe set up , 255 LEDs, 127 when turning. Really lites up the rear of my 2011 RTS SE5 . Great effect. It’s a plug& play for $119

I drank the kool aid and have ordered one. I have looked at this a couple times, but it was not available for sale at that time. Read the reviews, saw the pictures, and like what I saw.
