• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lifting my Spyder with a traditional car lift? Is it possible?

Can I have my Spyder lifted with a traditional car lift? I am in Mexico so it is a bit of a pita to find a motorcycle jack or get one down here, I might have to buy one, but if I can use a car lift then I won't. Just want to be sure....

sure as long as they have a deck on it to drive on....do you have a harbor freight near by?? car jack will work and stands..

When you say "Car Jack" are you referring to a floor jack? If that is what you mean then yes they work just fine. I have 2 sets of ramps and a floor jack, I lift one end up put the ramps under that end lift the other end up put a ramp under it and I am good to go.

Depends..!

Here is what I use...the blue one can be used to lift the each side and placing a jack stand under as well as the rear. The yellow one can be used to lift the whole unit.....

I appreciate the help. I have a floor jack like the blue one, but no stands here but will look around for them.

What I meant was a traditional floor lift, like at a tire joint, I have access to one at a Firestone dealer, but they are made to lift 4 wheels vs 3 wheels.....so I am not sure if this is possible or not. Anyway, I do appreciate the help, eventually I will be able to do this myself.

I also am pretty scared about the tupperware, I hope I can get it back together ok hehe, going to give putting on the sway bar a try. The tupperware seems to be a pita to me. hehe chicken Laura! :yikes:

That video that highwayman posted is really great. I watched it several times before I started removeing panels and it really helped. For me the hardest part was removing the mirror. I watched just that part several times alone to get his hand placement and striking direction down.

Well today I got my act together, found my local motorcycle dealer (yuk Italika brand) but he has the jacks and lifts I need. He is actually a US Resident and his daughter are actually American! HA and speak English! So funny, you just never know what you will find here, so tomorrow e are putting on the Bajaron Sway Bar, Belt Guard and the LED Skid Plate...whooo hooooo. THENNnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

The next day, the Speakers, LED Pod lights, my USB plug thingy on the JT Dash Mount, and of course the Fusebox! So exciting! So when I go on my trip on Saturday I will have all my farkles done for now (only for now as I will be buying more goodies hehe) So I shook off the fear of tupperware removal and other issues hehe, I will be able to do this, I am pretty sure! Thank YOU everyone!

Whew, I am back from lifting the Spyder and putting on the skid plate, sway bar and belt guard. All I can say is that I am pooped, I was pretty stressed out, once the bike started going sideways a tad while up on the jacks, and my guy had to jump up on it to keep it upright. Needless to say this is not the faint hearted. This bike is my baby. But it is done, only bad thing is the skid plate has a defect in the LED lights, 3 of the little lights does not come on, if you touch it just so they do, let them loose they go off, ugg, to me this was the hardest of the 3 items that I installed. Picture are in the MOD forum and more info if interested!

Tomorrow the Blueknight911 Speaker farkle, and the LED pod lights I bought a while back! Excited! Plus the JT USB and 12v Socket Farkle. Whooo hooooo hopefully this won't hurt as much as today!
