• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lift for Spyder?

I've been thinking about buying a lift for my Spyder, but I don't know which to buy. I'd like to use the lift in order to change my oil, and also to remove the wheels. I'm tired of paying $80.00 per hour labor to have my dealer change and balance the tires. I talked with the local Co-op and they said if I bring in the wheels and tires they would change and balance them for only $10.00 each.

Does anyone here know of such a lift? What min. clearance would I need? Where would the lift points be on the Spyder?

Here's a picture of what I had in mind:

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Did you look into harbor freight for lift?
I know a lot of people don't like harbor freight but I think it is great.
Lets be honest with each other. Granted harbor freight stuff is made in Japan or China. Thn go to sears, home depot, lowes see where there tools are made. Same place.

Actually, this is an Harbor Freight lift. If you click on the thumbnail, It'll take you to their site with a full description.

I use a regular Sears 3 ton floor jack to lift my RT but I have to run the front wheels up on ramps to get enough clearance to get the jack under the front. Then I can lift it off the ramps and put jack stands under it. The floor jack goes under and lifts the back with no problems. I already had the floor jack and I use it when working on cars and pickups as well. It is similar, if not exactly the same, as the one in the following link.
