• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not a Mechanic but did you check all the fuses if you do not get the dash light to come on could be electrical :dontknow: best guess good luck..jtpollock

Sounds like battery...

With NOTHING working - brake lights, dash, etc. means a complete power failure. All those things are on different fuses, which means power to the fuse box is gone. Measure the voltage on the battery, check terminals. I don't recall if there is some type of inline fusible link on the positive cable of the battery, so trace it from battery to the fuse box. A popping sound might be the positive cable shorting to ground from rubbing on something, the battery having an internal short (unlikely), a terminal falling off the battery (screw got loose and fell out), etc.

now that i think of it, i did loosen the battery terminals to take out an asseories attached to it.
and i dont think i screwed the terminals all the way back in...

can it be because of that?
could it be the screw got loose, and everything turned off?

i hope to god your right
i will look at it tomorrow morning and let you now

The POP you heard was probably the electricity arching across an air gap on a loose battery terminal which then caused the cable to lose connection to the battery. Hopefully it didn't take any(or too many) fuses with it. Tighten BOTH cables at the battery. check you fuses (yes all of them including the main fuse). Then and only then turn on your key and see what you have. Good luck.

And don't worry you aren't the first or the last to forget to tighten a cable.

All of the above

Re-check all the electrical connections. Any loose ones will result in these kind of problems. Hopefull it was only at the battery that you worked....

Anytime you repair or modify your spyder/motorcycle/car/truck/mower/chainsaw/toilet and then you have an issue with them later you go back to what you did last. Most of the time you will find the problem. Works for me anyway.

update

hi guys,
i am so sorry for delay in response
the weather here in NY has been so ****ty with cold heavy rain and wind....i didn't get a chance to get to my garage to check on the spyder
but this morning was beautiful, so i went out..

long story short....you guys are lifesavers..

it was a loose terminal screw i didn't tighten enough
whewwww..i worked on putting the battery on a battery tender to charge it the day before the incident..
i guess when i put it back, i didn't tighten the screws to the battery..

i love you guys... and thanks for the quick response also..
