• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, I finally got the title to my Spyder today. So, I went up to the tag office to get the tag for the bike. I asked the lady if there a chance that there would be a "Y" in the number. She said there were two!
My plate starts with 'YM'. Is that cool or what? It's a Y Motorcycle.

The other lady said that it may take a while on getting the title processed because they have to figure out what a Can-Am Spyder is? She had problems with the VIN number on her computer cause it's an "unknown thing"? :spyder: Too funny!

It took me nearly 3 months to get mine. First they said there was a personnel shortage in Atlanta but the final story was they couldn't figure out what the Spyder was. Good thing was the title says it is a motorcycle - bad news was the ad valorum taxes ($265).

Since I purchased this through a dealer that was doing it on consignment and it was used, I didn't have to pay any sales tax. I got it NC.

I'm guessing that you are a submariner? You are located in Kingsland, GA and I think that looks like a Navy Sub Emblem on your post?
If so, thanks for serving.

When I went to register men they didn't know what it was either (strange, since they had been out 5 years and there are about 80+ in town). She had to go have a supervisor add the make and model to the computer.

I was just disappointed that the personal plate I wanted "ARRRRR" was taken.
Maybe I should try for PYR8 or TRYPOD

Hey Arrr, I am thinking about a trip by Spyder in June to Las Vegas, I know it gets hot but based on you experience, what part of the month would be best? I went to Reno last year in early June and it was rainy and cold. The year before I hit Reno in June and it was 100 and sunny lol...I am guessing early June works better for Vegas?

Thanks

Yeah. Early June is best. -Should- be past the winter cold, rains and wind by then, but before the bad heat. Our local SRA chapter does a ride the first Saturday of every month. Come join us!

My Michigan tag was Y Y Y. Nevada considers the Spyder a motorcycle since it has only one drive wheel. It therefore requires the operator to have a motorcycle license. They do not require traditional trikes riders to have a motorcycle endorsement (2 rear drive wheels) or to wear a helmet.
