• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm not sure if the license plate fell off when I was riding or if someone stole it while it was parked. I hardly ever park my spyder anywhere, but I was using non-standard screws for the license plate. Anyone recommend where to get the screws for the license plate and a secure one at that? Maybe even a lock too to prevent theft of the plate?

Any hardware store, [ie home depot] will have Nylock nuts/bolts.
They'll never come lose on their own.

Don't forget to install new 3-M Dual-Locks at the plate bottom. They help keep the plate from failing, although they are not foolproof. Standard equipment on the RS.

My plate "fell" off magically too after 17 months of being just fine. :gaah: I must have really upset the neighbors this time...:dontknow:

Those 3-M Dual Locks are expensive...$3.57 for just one and you probably would replace all 4 of them (not me..I refused).

After reusing the original Nylock nuts/bolts I kept I was thinking duct tape the bottom and superglue the bolts this time. :roflblack:

The super glue or even locktite works well. Also had one license plate fall off when she bottomed out the rear end in a big pothole. I saw it happen--so no lost license plate.

I use the reflectors with the wing nuts, and springs to keep mine on--they have worked just fine in over 40,000 miles of Spydering.

Can Am has a serious problem with cracking fenders, fender brackets, plate lights, and plates because of the poor design/installation.

Watch your plate light break off, and then the brackets give loose on the fender as you are on the hwy. :(

:agree: I always walk around Orbit every two weeks looking for anything that is out of ordinary, such as loose bolts. During one inspection I noticed one of the nuts was gone (bolt stayed). Fortunately the other three were still tight enough for me to get home, and re-tighten with locktite. Locktite is getting to be my best tool in my box :2thumbs:
