• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sandy Really Blows.

Jersey shore is taking a beating. The mayor of Atlantic City told people to stay and now they are cut off. Governor Christie is pissed. Sandy has made landfall and the winds are picking up by me west of Philly. It's going to be a long night.

NC coast took a hard hit. I have family in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. My daughter worked at Lowes today in DE. She said they closed at 3:00 but it was a mad house until then. My boss lives in PA north of Philly. He said it was getting pretty bad there this morning. Going to call my sister in Hanover PA in a few minutes. Stay safe everyone.

Just got off the phone with my sister-in-law. She is currently in labor at her home on the CT/RI border. All seems to be going well. Just hope she can get to a hospital when the need arises.

Storm's really beginning to hit here in D.C. Been raining and cold all day long-- REALLY cold-- but now the wind is gusting like crazy.

I've got coolers and a freezer full of ice, plenty of food and water and batteries, Spyder's battened down, and I'm on my first beer of what I suspect will be a lonnng evening. (nopoweroutagepleasenopoweroutagepleasenopoweroutagepleasenopoweroutageplease )

On the bright side? All this talk of "Sandy" fondly reminds me of a sweet girl I fooled around with back when I was a teenager; haven't thought of her in probably 20 years. Nobody tell my beloved GF, please ;) :joke:.

The good news is it appears the rain is ahead of the storm and not circling back. Just wind, but alot of it. Parts of the shore and LI are going to be devastated. We have high winds now with power flickering on and off..

crazy here. Sky lighting up blue and orange from transformers blowing. Power is on and off....very high winds. Sky is wild with the arcing in the distance.

Worried about my daughter

Based on the forcast the highest area of 74+ mph winds are going to pass right over my daughters house. I talked to her and the wind is picking up and looks to be 54+ mph right now. She lives between DC and Baltimore and luckly not in a low laying area.:pray::pray: She lost power for awhile but got it back. She has her supplies and helps with Red Cross sreach and rescue so may get called out to help other before this thing blows over.

Prayers/Thoughts are with you

We are thinking and praying for everyone's safety through this storm.

What a huge storm by Lamont's pics. Wow - for speedy turnarounds and safety...oh the snow already in some areas

We have a transformer getting ready to blow. A few blocks away lighting up the entire sky, red white & blue...:dontknow: eerie sound almost like a fog horn coming from it. High winds....

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers

Well, Sandy has made landfall, and nearly six hours later, she (it) is still producing significant winds. I will be up during the night checking on the house.
I completed a PGR mission at Quantico National cemetery today (with my cage, I'm not ready to take my baby out in the rain yet) and it was awesome!
The weather worsened during the day, but the over 30 PGR members still stuck it out, and provided a proper and respectful final salute for the
unclaimed remains of 18 veterans and 4 military spouses. I urge you to check out patriotguardriders.org and miap.us
