• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

lets see if we could do this

as i mentioned yesterday, it would be interesting to see what temps. the bikes are running at. all bikes are welcome to participate and i am not looking for any comments or bashing of the bikes or the company. i am really curious about the bikes that don't have any heat issues just to see what others feel is not hot. when i took my readings i had been for a 25 mile ride and the outside temp was 66 degrees, i took the readings with the bike in neutral and running, and when the fan came on is when i took the readings at the bottom right side vents.
so all are welcome to join in but PLEASE NO BAD COMMENTS OR DISCUSSIONS . THANKS

the temp. out today where i was, was 66 degree f. = 18.889 c

right side bottom vent 191.2 degrees= 88.444ºC

gas cap 159 degrees = 70.556ºC

right side top vent 164 degrees= 73.333ºC

temp gauge almost up to hot .

Altitude and ambient temps seem to have a lot to do with the perceived heat too. I for instance feel more heat if I'm riding in the upper 90s in Phoenix, rather than the same temps at higher altitudes. Not to make things complicated, but it does happen to be a more complicated issue.

TO ME IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER JUST WAN TO SEE WHAT TEMPS PEOPLE HAVE

Be back..!!

only thermometer we have requires a tongue to put it under.. :roflblack: will get one and get back to you...

John, I assume your using the analog temp and fuel gauge? Have you ever tried unhooking the analog gauges and see what the digital gauges read? My digital gauge never goes above 5 bars. At 5 the fan comes on. When I had the analog gauges hooked up it never went above 1/2 way. Maybe your analog gauge is not reading right? I know this wont fix your heat problem but it seems weird to me that your gauges are actually reading so high. The fan should come on and drop the temp reading real quick. It seems like your fan is coming on way too late. Again not that trying this will fix anything but at least it might eliminate the gauge as a problem.

:agree: Digital is much more accurate Mine usually runs 5 bars when hot just at the edge (5.5 ?) of kicking the fan on I know it kicks in at 6 bars. How often is your fan on John? With some of the temps you are seeing I would expect almost all the time.

temp

yes i have a 28 dollar gauge i bought off of amazon and it is inferred and yes i went over to the digital on the dash and basically got the same temp readings

almost up to the hot mark i never read the bars but hot enough to melt the canister
Need to know how many bars. Have you ever checked your coolant level and I have read of someone having a thermostat installed backwards.

checked

brp told them what to check when they sent the buds report to them so i personally never checked, but the service manager is the one that told me brp is using a different coolant in their quads with a higher boiling point but they were not going to change it in the spyders. so my guess is that the quads are having hear issues also
