• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lets help Bytemi daughter Antonia get some more Spyder time :) Donations encouraged !

My Gift to all that sent money!

I can't believe the generousity of everyone in this community. God bless you all.

My husband and I made paracord bracelets for the Veterans at Rolling Thunder and I hope that every person that send money for the back rest and apparently now for arm rests (I assume that ISCI RS Only will work on my GS???), will accept one as our token of appreciation for the support and love that we received. If you could send your Name, Home Address and the circumference of your wrist to [email protected], I will start working on the bracelet and get them out to you as soon as possible (this may take some time).

My husband and I both have mixed feelings of graditude, love, appreciation and a little guilt (neither of us accept help easily). Please accept this small token as our way of saying thank you so much for your support, it is truely appreciated!

I too am in awe of this!!! When the thread started, and I saw what needed to be raised, I figured probably 4 or 5 days. It is so awesome that this was done within 12 hours!!!

What a wonderful group of people!!!:thumbup:

Admit it Randy; You'd just rather have Holly hanging on extra tight to you... :D

Nawwwwww............. Those are not my cup of tea. They are aweful on my eyes, but thats just me.

My vote would be to have her spend the extra on a tank of gas and a day trip with her daughter to an amusment park on the Spyder.

To be honest, I expected my paypal account to calm down after I posted that we reached the goal and the backrest was ordered. But then Armrests were thrown into the mix and my account is still tagging me. Please believe if you send money, it will go to Antonia and her safely riding the Spyder. I was thinking that armrests would lock her in from back and side and I am in front of her so she wouldn't go anywhere. Plus from what I read, I believe I can fold them down when she is not riding. My ultimate goal is to keep her safe and keeping her motivated to do therapy. I would do anything to reach those goals. Including sucking up my pride and accepting help. :barf:

The ISCI armrests will work on your GS as well :) The make great products if that is what you choose to add to the Spyder for your daughter -- if not you could always buy her --her own riding jacket, etc ... or go with Arntufun suggestion as well ! Can't wait to hear about her first ride with the backrest and all the fun you guys will have ...:ohyea:

What is the total of donations so far ? Have we reached enough to do armrests too ?

The total right now is $773. WOW, that is a lot of support! I like Arntufun suggestion too.

I'm no scientist but arms locked semi straight with a grip most likely is safer than her arms bent 90 degrees resting on armrests with barely any leverage for grip . :dontknow: Unless she is a bigger girl and her hips or tourso touch each side of those armrest, I will dismiss the claims of these armrests will lock her in place side to side. More like a pinball if you ask me.

But hey........ the only thing I know for sure is those armrests are not pleasing to my eyes. I stand behind my vote for gear or an amusment park trip for her on the Spyder.

The SpyderLovers community is more like an Extended (Highly DisFUNctional) Family

Teddy had to throw his bone in with the rest to help out:thumbup: Its rarely ever easy for ANY of us to ask for help and can often be even harder to accept that help. Keep one thing in mind, those that do help, have most probably been (at one time or another) helped themselves and you are providing a way for them to pay it forward, not only helping you in your time of need, but also helping themselves.

In fact, the dynamics of this is those who offer the help get far,far more out of it.

Funny I said the same to hubby. But is easier when I am on the other side of the giving. Please do not take anything as not being grateful, these are my internal issues and I apprecite everything!

Bracelet

In case I have not said this yet, I am humbled and in aw of my fellow Spyder Lovers. I just wanted to post a picture of the braceletes my husband and I make.

We are going to start making them tonight. The claps and color may be different, but I want to give you an idea what they look like. Please send me your Name, Address and wrist size, this is something small that we can do to say thank you for all of your generosity!

BTW: Antonia was so excited last night when I told her about the backrest and being able to go on longer rides. Thank you again.
