There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Let's Dress Up Those Fenders!

RT-S PE#0391
I've been trying to convey an idea to KewlMetal, Kuryakyn or someone to fabricate a nice dressup for the somewhat bland Spyder fenders. I mean seriously ... all of my Spyder RT-S, even without this years chrome bling is nicely accented ... UNTIL ... ya get to them fenders. Blah!

I was thinking about something along the lines of a chrome moulding that starts about 3/4 around the back of the fender (over the mud flap), then wraps forward to terminate at a chrome bezel that sets down in the recess around the fender tip light ... or better yet, caresses the outer sides of the recess to form a little 'hook' ... like a spyder claw blade from World of Warcraft.

Or ...

One could design something that just gives some class to the front fender edges and then extends up to dress up the fender tip light.

What do you think? Let's get some ideas together and send them off to someone who'll design the bling.

Best ...

That is the lighted trim. I am referring to chrome adhesive material available in various widths.

I know what you meant. But, what I found interesting when I went on a ride with other spyders 2 weeks ago was a comment made about the fenderz. The person liked them and didn't know they were lights. Everyone has different tastes.

I guess my wish was ...

I'd hoped for a professional accessories fabricator to design a moulding and trim appropriate for the Spyder fenders that have the same class and finish as one might find on a touring Harley or Goldwing. I didn't want to simply buy stick-on moulding at AutoZone or Pep-Boys. There is no tolerance for error on this stuff and it doesn't even complete what I envision. It needs a professional fabricator.

The note with the Spyder is that the moulding would probably need to be as avante-garde in its design as the rest of the vehicle; not 'classic', per se. This is why I could almost see a trim coming up and across the center groove of the fender; then decending to sculpt the outside of the bezel of the fender tip light (It would look like a World of Warcraft spider claw blade). There are other variants that could take shape based on the imagination of the designer/fabricated.

I'm with ya...put lights or nothing, IMHO...might as well add serious visibility in addition to good looks...maybe those who want a serious change can just get a paint shop to design something for them? Kinda like a tattoo for the fenders?

I like lights...guess I'm a light junkie!

I must say that that does sound pretty interesting.

I used these guys to light up my 2 wheeler and trailer. LEDs elluminating paint makes for a very interesting combination. The LEDs are underneath the artwork. I am sure they could do something with the fenders.

:agree: But it's nice to have options... Chrome is never a bad choice either! (Or gold-plated...)

Options always good...I 'ain't' no chrome guy...leave that to the HDs...IMHO, our bikes are very much plastic and I don't think chrome blends well, but that's only my take on it...

First came the ESI mud flap lites...then came the flying flags painting and now comes the TricLED's in red/white in the "groove". Yep yep Ms Spyder has gotten her groove upgraded....:roflblack::roflblack:
