• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Let the Mods begin.......

Also going to buy some of the 'toggle' style buttons like the ones on the center console to use for garage door opener, etc..... anyone buy those yet?

I'd LOVE a toggle button on my center console (if I have room -- gotta go look) for a garage door opener -- where would I find such a thing?

Take a look at my mods thread. I used a momentary button I got from radio shack, and soldered that into the button of a keychain garage door opener remote. Tucked it all inside and put the button on one of the blanks in the console.

I want to use the actual OEM buttons so it looks like it belongs......

I have the good fortune to live w/in a pleasant day ride to Corbin, and have taken advantage of that twice. They will do exactly what you want while you wait and watch, and ship your old saddle home for you. Well worth doing if you can find time for the ride to Hollister.

Another mod not mentioned, the dash kit from Powerwraps. Glad that you moved over to the RT, although I would like to take a ride on a GS/RS one day, just to see the difference. Maybe one day I get to a demo from a dealer......;)

The installation guide says you can wire it to monitor all the time, but if you wire it NOT to monitor all the time it can take up to 6 minutes for it to start reading. So it looks like it just depends on how you want to wire it.

As sensitive as the charging system is on these things, I can deal with the 6 minutes.....and i have 2 batteries hooked up as well. But will be interested to see how Dan goes about it for sure.

I just mounted the garage door opener in the glovebox. I cut a hole in the liner and just stuffed it in there! :2thumbs:

Slicker than snot! :roflblack:

Dan...I've got a set of the Xenon Depot Hid lights that I got for my RS but went thru too many hassles with Town & Country to get them put in so I just abandoned the idea...If you want the HID set it's yours...let me know. They fit the RT with no problem....

I wanted them too but couldn't find them for a reasonable price. You'll need a momentary button, not a toggle. One like the parking brake/trunk release would work. Not one like the heated grips. A momentary button pushes in and pops back. A toggle pushes in and stays in.

I found the parking brake/trunk release switch in the BRP parts catalog (part #710002353) but I'm not sure how to check the price of it. I guess I can wait until I get my next oil change and ask them to price it for me?

That one is like $45 due to it being dual action.

I got the single-action ones for $12 each.....

Dan, my best mod was the Elka shocks, next are my Glenda lights. They are made by Clearwater and they have custom mounts for the Spyder. I purchased mine from Len at Cowtown and they did the instal. These lights are amazining! I have never gone wrong with Len.

Favorite RT mods....

Here are some pictures of mods I have done and like the best on my 2010 RT and the 2012 RT Ltd.

I would have to rate the Elkas and Len's Ram Air Intake on the top of the list too.

I had Len install Elka's before the RT even left the showroom floor--- and yes---- he personally installed them. He's got it down---- 11 minutes flat--- for both fronts.
