I know many of you don't know me but just wanted to put my own welcome and well wishes for those of you who are preparing for your trip to Cuba.
I keep thinking about the first year when a 30 person BBQ turned into a full weekend event with over 100 participants. We were blown away with what occurred that year--three days of ultimate fun and new friendships. It was literally the Monday post event that we started talking about what could we possibly do the next year to make things amazing.
When I found out our daughter would be arriving within a few weeks of the event I had to take a backseat on the planning excitement to keep that baby in the oven. The group who has become known as the MoGang stepped in and helped Len pull the event off without a hitch. I think I can confidently say, any concerns had about living up to the first year were put to rest early on.
Now we are three years in, over 500 attendees committed, and an incredible schedule of events planned--the week is going to rock!
To Lamont, thank you for running the site and the support of the event. It truly has become a signature SpyderLovers event.
To the MoGang--I cannot believe the tremendous amount of dedication and energy you all put into making this event possible. Thank you for the support you give to Len's crazy ideas. He's really good entertainment, but you all help make the vision he has a reality.
Most importantly to the folks driving from all over the country--thank you! Without you there would be no Spyderfest. There's a great schedule, but I think everyone will agree it's the people that make spyderfest the awesome event it is!
As you can imagine between work and three kids at my house (2 under the age of 30) there is a lot of craziness, and that will go up a few notches over the next several weeks, but to quote Len, "Game On!"
Safe Travels--I'll see you in Cuba, MO!
