• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is it loose like you can hold the mirror and move it around a bit or has one of the catches actually disengaged? Loose, to a point, is normal at least for the RT.

You'll need to remove it , and check the condition of those metal clips that handle the latching duties. if they're bent up too much; straighten them up a bit or replace them...

The mirrors snap on, with two spring clips and a keyhole clip on the back (hidden) side. Loose mirrors could be caused by bent spring clips, a broken keyhole clip, or merely a spring latch that has popped loose. The first thing to do is just try to snap the mirror back in place. The spring clips are located at the center front of the mirror and the rear bottom. If the front is where it is loose, rap sharply with your hand on the back outer corner of the mirror to try to snap it back in place. For the bottom being loose, you would rap downward from the top outer edge. Ifv the top rear is loose, you have a broken keyhole clip that will need to be replaced.

If you can't snap the mirror back in place, the spring clips are probably bent. Remove the mirror by rapping on the outer edge sharply while supporting (and resisting) the mirror with your other hand in the opposite direction. I rap backward first, to release the front clip, then upward to release the bottom. Be careful not to go too far or pull outward, lest you break the keyhole clip. When the front and bottom/rear clips have released, slide the mirror straight upward about 1/2" to release the keyhole clip, then pull the mirror outward. You can disconnect the wires at this time if you wish.

You will see two spring clips, which have a pair of spring wires each. carefully straighten the wires so they are straight and parallel. Put a little lubricant on the cone parts of the latch posts. The connect the wires, slide the mirror on the keyhole clip, then rap sharply downward, then sharplty forward to snap the spring clips in place.

This video will give you a good understanding of how the mirrors hook, it's about 30 seconds in.

the whole assembly is loose compared to the right side.
u can rock it side to side.
ONE of my favorite memories is when we when out to Forks to the drag races and while parking the honda. A older hd pulled next to us and the first thing he said was saved the mirror but lost the nut. I sure dont want to be that person holding the mirror.
Wasnt able to watch the video on the kindle.

These instructions were posted in here a while back... I hope that they help!

First, make sure the mirror spring wires are straight and parallel. If they are bent inward they may not catch the post,
and if they diverge or bend outward, the mirror will be loose. It can help to put a very tiny bit of lube on the outer,
conical part of the post only. I'm talking about a film here, not a glob. Make sure there is none on the back side (post notch).
Engage the keyhole slot first. Then rap downward firmly (but politely) on the outer edge of the mirror to seat the bottom latch.
Now rap forward on the outer edge of the mirror to seat the front latch. You can rap a little harder than you can taking the
mirrors off, because they won't fly across the room, but don't get carried away. Problems seating the latches are usually
caused by bent spring wires.
