• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Learning about my RT bit by bit

I got my new RT Tuesday, of course I couldn't care less about the bolts, the washer, and the battery.

But now it's raining, and I decided to inspect the undercarriage, the battery location, suspension, etc, etc.

I've noticed a plastic... well, let's call it skid plate, right in the middle (or a little forward) of the Spyder. This plastic guard can slide back and forth, and I can't figure out why? All the push pins seem to be there, but it seems to be designed that way since the holes I could see were all slotted allowing the tray to move - do any of you know why?

Now to a jacking point, is it OK to jack just in on the frame in front of the CConverter?

Is there a guide online showing which order, the sequence, and/or how to remove the tupperware, where are the pins, screws, rubber mountings etc, go?

Is there a free shop manual free or not, preferably available outside BRP, for the RT Limited 2023?

Is there an OBD plug somewhere?

That's about it for now :) Thanks for your patience.

No OBD plug. Software is proprietary to BRP. Have to buy BUDS2 program. Yes jack right there on main frame. Sometimes I jack on rear shock using block of wood between it & jack. Many places to buy service manual.

Thanks Woodaddict. Any reason why you would choose the shock bolts versus the frame?
OK, I'll look online for the manual; it's always good to have one, new Spyder or not! I spent my life turning wrenches and I'm always curious to learn how things work. Thanks for your post.

The shock just gives a little more weight to front for balance. I do rear tire changes this way

Can these manuals be downloaded on a iPad Pro? I’m not a fan of a laptop in a garage environment.

They are in a PDF format so will work with just about any device. Limited by screen size or eyesight, whichever is worse.

As long as you are in the learning mode, learn to just guide it out on the open road, because if you try to really steer it, it will be all over the road. I normally run on CC most of the time and just rest my hand on the handle bars, using pressure forward on the off side bar to make corrects and in big swiping corners.
