• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Learned two things about my RT-SE5 today

Took a ryde (145 miles) on my new RT today, and found out two things. First that hitting the horn will not change gears, and also the horn won't turn on the turn signal :banghead: Funny how I never hit the horn by mistake on my RS :roflblack:

Just picked up my RT SE5 this week and learned that my car habit of straddling road kill results in hitting it with the back tire.

New motorcycle blues..................
I had my RT just a few weeks and went to the Dragon with some of my friends.
We stopped for gas and everyone got their bikes started and got ready to continue the trip.
Everybody but me. I couldn't get the RT started.
Checked the kill switch----it was in the "ON" position.
Checked the mode switch----------I had waited the appropriate time and had already hit the mode switch after the self diagnostics.

It was then that I discovered...........The Cruise Control does NOT operate the starter.

So much

When I picked up my 2011 RT from the dealer the day I bought it I needed to fill it up with gas to get home. It took me about 10 min to get it started that first time trying to reamember the steps it needs to get going. So nice now because I have a routine that allows all it takes to get it started.
Before the helmet goes on I turn the key , then buckle , push the buttons and start. Let it run at idle while I but my gloves and glasses on . same thing everytime (unless its to hot for the gloves.} :yikes: what a joy to own.

:roflblack:

Embarrassing, I hit the horn a couple of times while out on my very first test ride with the dealer. He pulled over because he thought I had issues. :opps:

HORN WON'T START

Sometimes... ... you can miss it by lining up the offending debris just inside one of your front tires. Hopefully the outside edge of the rear tire has enough room to sneak by!
But I STILL had about 20 porcupine quills sticking out of a perfectly good rear tire once!

Reminds me of when we brought the RT home from the dealer the first time . I parked it in the driveway to change clothes and go to work .
Hopped on the RT and could not get it started , not then and not the next morning or at lunch . Had to re read the manuel to find 1 it was in gear so 2 I needed to be stepping on the brake pedal for it to be able to be started . :banghead:
Lesson learned , although have to admitt that it has happened a couple other times , good reminder for me anyways to not be in a hurry .:sour:

Just when you get it down as to where the button controls are with gloved hands, change to another set of gloves and it's learn over again as I found out this week. Honking the horn instead of canceling the turn signal after a lane change. :banghead:
