• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Leaky trunk

Does anyone else have a chronic leaky trunk? Everytime I wash :spyder: water makes its way into the trunk to the spot that holds the manual.

Me too!!! It happened everytime I washed it and I got a lot of water in there going up to Valcourt for the Homecoming. I was looking for posts on it but saw nothing until this one. Some of my luggage got wet. Not good!

Well, after 2 attempts by the dealer and numerous adjustments to the hood over the last couple of months, I found the problem. It's not the hood that leaks, the water is coming in from behind the trunk. Try this, open the hood & remove your manual. Slowly pour water over the female latching mechanism. There's some small drain holes for the water to escape. Now watch the horizontal seam just above the Velcro buttons that hold your manual. Water leaks from the seam down into the cup for the manual. I sealed the seam in the trunk with a little silicone and the leak went away (at least for now). Let me know if this experiment gives you the same results. BRP I think you have a design flaw!

I believe the dealers are supposed to use silicone sealant when installing the storage compartment upon assembly. The seam on mine does have silicone in there....no leakage at all

Since it rained so much at the BRP event in Canada, can any of you tell us if your trunk leaked?

I left VT to meet the group in Plattsburg in a DOWNPOUR and it rained on and of all the wat to Valcourt. Not only was my truck dry but my FEET were not even damp when we got to homecoming (I had sneakers on).

Haven't had the leak by the manual, but the top did leak at first...alot. Adjusted the latching post further in, and it took care of it. Definitely tested it in yesterday's latest round of severe storms (standing still). Nice and dry. Haven't ridden in any real hard or long rains, but on the road it certainly has not leaked so far again in a typical shower yet, either.

Looked at the manual "cup" on the Yellow :spyder: Spyder on the showroom floor at PMS (Pensacola Motor Sports) and could see a little silicone around the edges of the seam so looks like they are doing it correctly there.

Mine leaks exactly where described (horizontal seam above velcro dots). Is the storage compartment need to be

removed to silicone the seam or just force some in the seam with your finger? Is the compartment 2 seperate pieces

that are assembled by the dealer?

My Trunk Leaks Like Crazy

Read all the posts. :agree: I will try the silicone. I thought it was because I have the trunk liner - but I can see the black mark from the rubber seal all the way around the trunk lid, so the horizontal seam makes sense. Hope the silicone works.

No leaks here and this time of year in NC, it rains every night I drive home from work..starting to make me mad..stopped going to work..just work from home and go ride during lunch..lol. I have yet washed it with water..going to tonight since I drove through gravel the other day, stupid GPS..geez.
