• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Leah wants to say HELLO.

Well... It has been awhile. Several of you have asked for updates on Leah, and I've been lazy, and busy at the same time! So here is a video and some pics.

She is just a hair under 9 pounds at almost 23 weeks old. She is considered 9 1/2 weeks old "adjusted age" given how premature she was. She is eating great, and so far is meeting all of her "milestones" in regard to behavior. Still a very well behaved predictable baby. She is sleeping 7 to 8 hours a night, every night except for last night. Oh, and she likes to watch TV. Her eyes checked out fine and we are just waiting for her legs to rotate in ( they were splayed out from early birth and they say that will correct on it's own ).

The only issue now is that her head has a non uniform shape - mainly at the rear side of her head. Nowadays you can't let your baby sleep on their stomach due to the risk of SIDS, and combined with Leah's extra soft skull from being born too early, she has a little flat spot. They rotate the preemies in the NICU to try and avoid this from happening, but it is quite common in newborns too. So we had her looked at and are told the issue may correct itself. We are just positioning her differently now, but she may need a Cranial Band (helmet) that would allow her head to grow out in the right places... That usually takes 3 months or so to correct, and she is still too young for one.

Thanks again for the kind thoughts and support through out Leah's ordeal. I like to think she got through it due to all the thoughts and prayers from so many of you. She has the next few years to prove that she has no long term effects, but early signs are promising.

Here is the image we put on her birth announcement - after we got her home. We went with the prison theme due to her 79 days in the hospital NICU.

Thanks for sharing with us, Dan. My wife and I had both been wondering how Leah was doing. She is a real cutie. We're sure glad that she is doing so well and that her eyesight checks out good.
