Late for Work Again

Yesterday's ryde to work was the quite the adventure. Fog, Rain Storm and my helmet just didn't feel right. It really threw me off.

So I had some serious reservations about ryding in again today. The fog was thick. But my husband convenienced me it would be OK. So I rode. Well I dealt with the mist from the fog a lot better than yesterday and I had a great ryde (my helmet felt off because I forgot my buff yesterday, all better today). So I get to work at 6:30, I start work at 7:00, plenty of time. Life is good. Dude walks up to me and said "I was admiring your bike yesterday, can you tell me more about it....." Apparently the gentleman had knee replacement surgery and hasn't been able to ride since. So I am explained about my MS and how the Spyder really gave me back some of the freedom that I had lost.

So 45 minutes later I am done raving about the Spyder and all of it features. The gentleman is going to Clinton Cycle tonight to test Ryde one and I am late for work. At least my boss is understanding. He knows I can talk for hours about my Spyder. :D

Thank goodness for understanding bosses! I've only ridin mine to work a couple times but when I did, I got lots of questions too. However, I was not late for work. :roflblack: Sorry to hear about your MS. I have FMS and RA so I totally understand. I tried the two wheels, but hubby didn't think I was safe on one so, in comes the Spyder. Keep speading the word about these cool machines! People need to understand that they may look different but they're cooler than any other 3 wheeler!!

Were do you work? I work in Suitland MD. I didn't know Clinton Cycle sold spyders.

It sure WAS foggy this morning, wasn't it? My windshield and visor soaked up the mist something crazy riding into work today.

I keep reminding myself to get gloves with one of those "finger wipers" on them, never get around to it... coulda used them this morning!

The MS is what it is, I don't let it stop it and I do what I can to regain the things that I have lost. I was really upset last year that I missed the Can Am Ambassodor contest because I would love to tell my story. I just want everyone to know they can live without bounderies.

I work in Newington, VA. This guy came up from Silver Spring so I was trying to give him a place close to his house. I looked at Clinton Cycle when I was looking to purchase because they had an 09 Phantom, but it was sold by the time I got there. At least when I was there, they had at least 4 RTs and 3 RS new and a number of used Spyders.

My husband has the gloves with the finger wipers and he says they really don't work. I have a set of gloves that are leather with a cloth overlay on the palms. The cloth absorbs the water nicely and my hands stay dry. It is a good happy medium. The gloves just say Speed and Strength and I can't remember where I got them. I am sorry.

NP, thanks for the advice!

I haven't found the finger wipers to be of much help.

I turn my head to the side and let the wind take the water away. Wiping the visor with anything while you are wearing the helmet just makes a mess of your vision.

:agree: Well... that, and I'm so unco-ordinated that who knows where I might end up if I take even one hand off of the bars! :yikes: :roflblack:

(Remember Dudley in "Wild hawgs"? )

Good for you on riding to work in most any conditions. :2thumbs: Once the riding season starts that is pretty much what I do too. The harder rides make the easy one that much better.

Bob: Your right about that ambassador/salesman thing. I know of 5 spyders that were sold because of my input--I did not even get a thank you from the dealer.

Does anyone know how I can get more DVD's/brochures, I gave out my last one of each this morning. Man when I bought the bike, the guy gave me a big ziplock back full and they are all gone now. I need more. :D

I got a whole bunch of those credit-card sized ones from my dealer; I suggested that he find a place on it to put his phone number. Now whenever I go in there, I get asked if I need any more of them... :2thumbs:
