There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. last rYde for 2008?

It was kinda warm for two days in a row here. Yesterday 50, today 40. That got most of the ice and messy stuff off our driveways and the roads.
I took advantage and rolled the spYder out of the cave. (barn)
The rYde wasn't too far, but I got the oil temp up and circulated and a good test of the F1 EIII slider under varying conditions. As reported by others, it is a really good windscreen. I am 6'. With slider all the way uo, I can look over the top AND there was no wind blast on my upper body at all. I could ride with the face shield up and no wind chill. It was 37F on the spYder temp indicator and I was holding about 60mph.
The forecast is for colder and snow, so this was likely my last rYde for 2008. I may never reach 25,000 miles - but whenever I ride, it is a pleasure.

It was 50 here today. The thunderstorms (during tornado warning) washed away most of the ice and salt. Roads were dry and nice today! Oh what a feeling to be on the Spyder again!:2thumbs:

77 here today, we've got a cold front coming and it's supposed to drop to the high 60's low 70's later this week. :joke: My last ride of 2008 will be on the 31st, I plan on going to work for a little while.

Low 50s yesterday, high 40s today, 40 plus miles yesterday, probably more today, don't know what's coming next week, building up my Spyder fix just in case.

Was able to ride to work three times this week, so I am pretty happy. I am contemplating riding to work today but we are expecting snow tonight, just don't how much or how soon.

It has been nice enough here to ride, but I have panels and mirrors off waiting for extentions and highway peg brackets to come in and be installed. It is tempting to put it back together while i wait but like Smylin, I dont want salt all over it. It wont be a big deal in the Sping once I have my hoses hooked back up.:2thumbs:

It will be cool in the morning ----

But it will be clear so will probably take the Tryke to Dialysis. Might come home, rest a little, and see if Sunkawakanwi will go to lunch on the Spyder. For a good meal she will put up with a little cool weather.

Well, I finally snuck in that long overdue ride. Couldn't manage when it was 50. Still ice in the driveway, and yesterday I had to take my son to the airport. Thirty degrees had to do, but the ice was gone from the driveway (almost) and most of the street. Still some slick spots near the snow piles, but I managed to avoid them. The Spyder is very comforting under those circumstances. I had to completely cross one real slick patch at the driveway entrance to the grocery store. If I had been on my two-wheeler I would have kissed the ground for certain.

Rode both the Spyder and my R1100RT. Those are the only two not winterized. I heard them calling my name from the garage, and just had to answer. Only went about fifteen miles each, but got in a little stretch on the highway, and even hit the slab for a few miles with the RT. Nice to feel that kick in the butt and run them up to speed during the middle of a dreary winter. You can call the mental ward now and tell them I won't be needing their services after all. :)

Interesting to ride both machines and compare. First, the heated vest. Too much even on low most of the time for me. I wouldn't have minded heated gloves on the Spyder, though. Fingers got quite cold. Better on the return trip when I left the slik liners off, so my winter riding gloves weren't as tight. The heated grips on the RT are a comfort. Had to leave my glasses off on both rides, due to fog. Faceshield did OK, although it fogs faster at a stop with the Spyder, since it gets colder with the low, stock Spyder windshield. The adjustable Cee Bailey's shield and the fairing on the RT are the winners hands down, there. My feet and the bottom of my legs were much warmer on the Spyder, motorcycle fairing, cylinders and all. I wouldn't want to have ridden all day on the RT that way. I would have needed warmer boots, and another layer besides my longjohns, pants, and riding pants. The thighs get colder on the Spyder, along with the hands, of course. My neck was colder on the Arachnid, too. For longer journeys one of the aftermarket shields would be a necessity.

Anyway, I am happy now. December got crossed off the calendar, and just the knowledge that I can now physically get a bike out of the driveway is comforting. Who needs Prozac when you have a motorcycle? I know this is temporary, and I will soon crave a January ride, but it was sure nice to get my fix while I could. Father Leo isn't the only one grinning anymore. :D

Could run into one of those 80+ degree day in January like we did a few years ago. I took my jet ski out for a spin in the river.

YEAH!!!:clap::clap::2thumbs::2thumbs: I am so happy for you Scotty.

Have been able to pile on some miles as it has been in the 50s and 60s for the last few days:clap:. Cold front coming in for New Years, but hoping to get in one more ride on New Years eve day just to top off a great year of riding:D...oh, and as a Christmas present to me, I finally took the plunge and ordered the Corbin saddlebags and seats...CAN'T WAIT:yes:!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! GO2LKG

We've had a couple of sunny (though windy) days in 40's and 50's so I've gotten a lot of miles in - and still good tomorrow, too, although maybe a high of 36. Most of the cinders have gathered in the center and sides of the road and no salt (So IL was running out, so they're only using cinders :2thumbs:). As long as the roads are dry, bikes and :spyder:stay pretty clean.
We always have a traditional New Year's day ride, no matter what the temps if the roads aren't iced or snowed. So this year will be clear, 20 mph winds and temps in mid 30's...actually not too bad for the first ride of the year.

Happy New Year, everybody - stay safe out there on those roads!

It was almost the last day of the year. I haven't been ryding since early November and I think my oil was getting a little cool. No snow yet today and some promised for the evening, the temp was up to 28°F....so last chance says I. I fired up L'il Miss Muffet and went for a short jaunt. Never made it past 2nd gear (and a little bit of reverse), but got the temperature bar up to 3 bars. So I think she might be Ok for another month or so. HHmmm is it HER or is it really all about ME? Anyway I tucked her in, covered her with the indoor cover and will let her have a wee bit of a snooze for another month or so. Heck, what's the use of doing it - if I can't share the story with friends. just tell me you are jealous and I will feel REALLY Good :)
and here's my chance to say "HAPPY NEW YEAR" to everyone
