• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Some of you might be wondering if you need this done to your Spyder because you might not be experiencing tire wear or you think your Spyder rides fine. Let me be the first to tell you I was one of those folks because you just get used to the way your Spyder handles, even if it's not right.

Since I have owned my Spyder I was constantly waking up the nanny all the time with making a turn from a stop. I always thought my Spyders Nanny was way to sensitive but IMO I think I have finally found the issue causing it. Since this alignment was done by Rnet and the steering angle reset, the nanny has been sleeping since. It is a different ride for sure. I love it !!!!!!

This whole time I have own this Spyder, I have fought with it and didn't even know it. I must have been going down the road with the handlebars slightly off center for years. :banghead:

My Spyder was toed out 1/4" and off with the rear by 2.5". After alignment, the steering sensor was off 3.5 degrees off center. :yikes:

If anyone is on the fence about getting this done, I will put this right up there with RonBar as one of the best things you can do to your Spyder. Thanks Rnet !!!!!

Thanks Randy!
And VERY nice picture with Ron's phone number!! :2thumbs:
He's the guy to call if you're within about a four-hour ride... nojoke

It really is a worth while expense. It made such a difference in the way my RT handles and rides. I can be more aggressive and the Spyder responds great. I was skeptical but not any more. You just don't realize how far off these things can be until you have it done.

Even though Randy's total toe-out was only 1/4" over the distance between the targets and that is very minuscule and that is why he got such great tire wear, however to drive it straight he had to of had the handlebars turned a noticeable amount cause his rear was tracking a whopping 2.5" off. So this is a case of even though you are getting great tire wear, you still may need an alignment. Also this was very close to going into Limp mode. Glad you loved it Randy.

Had mine done at Blackmans. It's not perfect I have to go back next Tuesday. Handlebars slightly cocked to the left and now the left turn signal does not cancel on its own. Lots of vibration coming from the rear of the bike, Today at 80 miles an hour in fifth-gear on the highway bike felt like it wanted to be put back into fourth gear.

It's almost like a different Spyder, isn't it?

I knew you would love it Randy, I could not believe the difference in handling when I had it done back in the early summer at "Stormin Norman's" in Dundee, NY. I always thought mine handled pretty well and had no abnormal front tire wear, but noticed it would dart around sometimes. I just accepted it as part of Spydering.

Nice to see you and everyone last week-end at Rnets place.

Well, I got a ROLO alignment on my :f_spider: and it didn't help one bit. nojoke However, that wasn't the fault of the ROLO alignment procedure. Les and the guys at Pit Bull did such a good job of installing my Elka shocks that my alignment was dead on.

Seriously, I recommend the ROLO laser alignment to every :f_spider: owner. It's the only way you can be sure your alignment is correct.

Laser Alignment

Lamont & Harvey aligned "Pearl", 2011 RT Ltd. The right side was straight. The left side was out. When I took off on I-95, I was traveling about 75 or 80 mph and just let go of the handle bars. Was this smart?????????? Hell no......but I had to know. Pearl tracked straight and true. Never could do that before. Was it worth the money? You better believe it. I did ask Lamont that when I had new tires installed would I have to do the alignment again and he told me no. I'm a happy camper!! Thanks Lamont & Harvey.
