• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Laser alignment on Hunter machine

Has anyone tried to perform a laser alignment on a spyder on a car/truck alignment machine? I don't see why you couldn't, aside from having to modify the lift to allow for a third wheel.
If so, what alignment specs are you correcting to?

My hunter machine clamps on the outside of the tires, would think the fenders would need to come off and I looked I didnt see any spyder specs on the computer, not sure it would pull any base readings, and the problem with the lift. I would love for my dealer to get a laser alignment kit, just doing basic measuring with a tape measure I know the tow on mine is a little off.

I do wanna pull the front wheels and check the road force balance on the tires.

I asked my other half, still playing around with this idea, and he said our Hunter machine can save custom settings. So if I took my spyder out, got a laser alignment done and then came back and put it on my machine, I can save the settings and thus be able to replicate it. But he did say that he would need to modify the rack a smidgen to have a rolling center plate for the back tire to sit on.
Our lalignment rack has those laser heads that mount on the rim so I don't think the rim would be an issue on ours.
Hmmmm... Still playing with the idea.

I suppose a way to check if I can accurately replicate the settings, I could borrow someone else's spyder and do an alignment and then take it to someone with a rolo alignment and see how accurate their alignment is

You need BUDDS to reset the steering angle sensor. Lamont did my laser alignment and it was the best money I have ever spent on my spyder.
I noticed the difference right away.

When visiting Tennessee in May we stopped by to visit with Lamont and get our spyders laser aligned , we had an awesome time with Lamont.
