Laser Alignment - Michigan

Has anyone had either of these two businesses done your laser alignment, and what was your opinion? These are on the Rolo list of Laser Alignment dealers in Michigan.

Ray C's in Lapeer, Michigan
&
River Raisin Powersports in Monroe, Michigan

First of all, I'm in Canton now. Lol
i have an appointment at Ray C's on the 8th to get an alignment. Never dealt with them before but have had two other Spyders that have had alignments. Worth every penny.

I discussed this with you guys. I was in Australia. I wish I could have made it. You left the day I got back.

I will call both places tomorrow or Monday and see when I can get in. Would like to get it done before a long ride on 13 th, and heading to SpyderQuest in Sept..
Visiting in Canton?

lazer alignment

Might want to inquire about the number of alignments they have done; practice does improve the end result. Sorry you missed Anne and Joe when they were here in June. Just got back from a 6000+ mile trip that was a pleasure to do because of not fighting a misaligned bike and it's inherent quirkiness. You will be amazed at the difference in handling of your bike after it is PROPERLY aligned.:yes::clap::clap::ohyea::ohyea:

All of my wife's family lives in that area. I lived there 21 years ago. Grew up near there, know it well. Ann and Joe are great people and were part of the Michigan group back in the early days of Spyder ownership when many group trips were coordinated. I would have loved to have them do it. It also would have been more convenient (closer) and less expensive. I spoke to Ray C's and they have done a lot of alignments. They charge $160. Having had alignments done on two other Spyders I know the value in having them done.

I have an appointment setup for Thursday at Ray C's, and going to check with the place in Monroe tomorrow.

Had alingment done today. Some difference in handling, not a huge difference to scream about. You just don't know till you have it done. Very nice place, and friendly people. Was it worth the $160? Maybe in the long run on tires, but could I have lived without it, prbably. It was only out 1/4", so not that much. Plus the 180 mile roundtrip drive was hot today. Asked how many they had done and they said probably 20-25.
But at least it is done, and I know it is aligned.

Not really. Maybe slight pressure to the left side sometimes, but nothing major. I asked him how it is now, and he said that it goes down the road straight, when he let go of handlebars. I had tried that before to see if there was any major drifting to one side or the other, and it stayed centered pretty much. Maybe if I had the bike longer than 6 weeks, I may notice some more difference, but I don't think so, because I have driven it all the way from south of Dallas to home (1256 miles), and have a total of right around 3000 miles since end of June, so don't really think that would be it. I just think that 1/4" toe out, was not enough to really make that much of a noticable difference, but I know that it is done, and not questionalbe about how much it could be off.

This is my third Spyder and I have a pull to the right that actually bothers me so I should get rid of this with an alignment. Having had alignments done on Spyders before it surely is a piece of mind giving experience. Before I had it done on my first bike I went through front tires quickly. Mine is getting done Monday at Ray C's and will let you know. Thanks

I agree. If you have a pulling issue, I am sure that will be taken care of with the alignment. The place is like a rustic log cabin lodge. Pretty nice. They (Ray C's) has another store in town called Ray C's Extreme which is the store that sells the Spyder's and anything associated for them. The shop/store that the alignments are done at, is strictly a Harley store. It's south of town about 2 miles with nothing around , to walk to, so expect to be there for a bit. They told me 2.5-3 hours. It was about 2.5 hours for me.
Hope this takes care of your problem. Let me know.

Just saw this on FB

Mike is the inventor of the True Laser Track system for SPYDERS and now SLINGSHOTS....JUST SAW THIS ON FB

The stroke happened when I was still in Florida…Mike was in SC
After 3 days of testing,,,Mikes heart is as strong as a ox….the blood clot was plaque that broke off in the artery leading to the brain stem and blocked blood flow in the PONS area…the neurosurgeon explained that as the arteries go further into your brain they get smaller….the small stroke at noon on Monday July25[SUP]th[/SUP] at the sawmill lasted 15 minutes and the clot moved and bloodkept flowing slightly and he was normal…during the night in the trauma center at 4:30 am July 26[SUP]th[/SUP] the clot moved further into the artery and got lodged in the pons area,,,,once it stuck and would not move it blocked all blood flow and damage occurred. He is now paralyzed on his LS.
It is too dangerous to go into that stem area and remove clot so …believe it or NOT…ASPIRIN will dissolve it
CAN YOU believeit is that SIMPLE… start taking ONE low dose aspirin a day….it will not hurt you but it will keep your blood thin and moving.
What probably started everything was the extreme heat…Mike and his brother Ed where working in Eds sawmill…the temperature that day was near 100 degrees…when you get overheated the blood thickens which when the plaque broke off it just made a bad situation worse. And knowing Mike he was also dehydrated…making it even worse.
Lesson #1: DO NOT get overheated ..why in god’s name where 2 men near their 70’s working like they were 25 years old. I know they both love wood BUT HIRE SOMEONE AND JUST SUPERVISE. These guys are both wealthy enough,,,but oh no both control freaks
Lesson #2: one low dose aspirin a day
Lesson # 3: NO more working like a dog…when he gets better he will work but not like he has been,,,time to slow down
Why does it take so long for us to realize the simple things in life
Next is rehab….the case worker has already been in to get the ball rolling we have to hit it HARD for at least a month then out patient for a year.

come on Spyder Lovers Mike needs prayers

Prayers going out your way Mike. Everything mentioned here, happended to me exactly the same, and same area of the base of the brain, back in 2003 , at the young age of 47. I was paralyzed on the total right side, and could not talk. Hang in there Mike, things will get better with hard work in therapy. Ask your doctor about the asprin. I am on 325mg daily, and Plavix the rest of my life. Asked doctor several years ago about lowering asprin to 85mg, and was told me no, that someone that has had a stroke or heart attack should be on 325, and those who haven't had anything can take 85mg as a preventative.
I found this out talking to Norman the other day.
God Bless and prayers
Steve

Kristal has been giving updates on Mike on her Facebook page. He was moved to a rehab facility in Spartanburg last Monday and has been making slow progress.
