• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Laser ailinment

Laser Alignment

Why so much for an alignment?

Just wondering what is involved that makes it so much.

OVER HEAD EXPENSES !!

It cost money for the equipment and tool to go along with it. Garage space, Insurance, advertising. It take time to set up and adjust everything to exact specifications.

The benefits of a
LASER ALIGNMENT are;
1. Greatly improved tire wear.
2. Reduced Drag or Scrubbing of the front tires.
3. Saves you lots of
$ $ $ for new tires before their time.
4. Smoother ryde.
5. Better control.
6. Improves driving efficiency.
7. Improved fuel mileage.

Cost of
$100.00 to $129.00 may sound expensive, but look at the over all picture! If your tires wore out at 10K to 20K miles before an alignment, then after the LASER ALIGNMENT you get 60K miles maybe more?
You figure it out,
LASER ALIGNMENT is very CHEAP. $129.00 divided by 60,000 miles = $0.00215 per mile.
These number may not be accurate and are intended only as an example. Numbers may very bases on ryding conditions, driving conditions, tire cost and other acts of nature. From what I have seen here, tire mileage is all over the board because of different reasons.

What if BRP service shops charged you
$295.00 or more? Probably not guaranteed. And it was not accurate enough for you to get 40,000 miles on your tires? ? ?
What one would you choose?

Is it really expensive? I personally think not. $129.00 for a
LASER ALIGNMENT and most shops will guarantee the alignment.
By the information I am receiving, a
LASER ALIGNMENT is the way to go for many positive reasons.

Yes, expensive. You can get a 4 wheel laser alignment for a car from $40 to $69 around here.

Sounds a little high for what it is.

If I can make a $1.00 net profit working on 1,000,000 cars versus a $20.00 net profit working on 1,000 cars, I'll take the former any day. However, if my sample is restricted to only 1,000 cars, then I'll take the latter.

LASER ALIGNMENT ! ! !

I agree with Dan ( Mr Looney ), 100 %.....But I would like to add this ....IMHO the early wearout of front tires is 90 % bad alignment and 10 % other factors...and this is not a guess.........I have two RS Spyders....I ride them both the same , on the same roads , in the same conditions , over an extended period of time.....The one with the bad Alignment wore the fronts out at 14,000 miles......the other one has about 17,000 miles and they look new ( reletively speaking ) This can ONLY BE an ALIGNMENT issue..............This is maybe the single best thing that has happened for Spyders since ................................LED'S :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: ......Mike

I had mine done by the dealer the old way , cost me $165 and it wasn't right they said there was nothing wrong then got it done with the laser at Rolo in Florida for $100 now it's driving like it should ,do it with the laser and get it done right, you will save on tires+better mpg+better+it doesn't pull to the right or left, I am very satisfied with the job they did.

I never was very good at math, now I have a headache. Thanks.

Overhead.
I took this off a previous post Payment of cash is preferred !!! AS we are not using any parts it is just labor only…..no sales tax needs to be collectedIf need be we except credit card payments you will have to call Kristal @ 386-427-8522 she will be processing the CC’s in Florida and can mail you the receipt. Cash price $100 …credit card price $105.00

You bring up a good point. Can't argue with that.

Laser Alignment

:yes:Ryde on and fight the pull or push based on the manufacturers alignment. Buy new tires and ryde and fight the fight pull and/or push. Spend the 100.00, no more push, pull and significantly better tire wear. Best money I've spent on the 12 RT ltd... Especially since the dealership indicated after an 'alignment check' for 80.00 there was nothing wrong.:shocked: Have to admit I was a bit skeptical :pray:ing it would work....voila...best $$$ I have spent in some time. Go for it.... (couldn't believe ho far off it was from the factory)

LASER ALIGNMENT

MrLooney,
In this case, also travel and lodging (for those doing the alignment).

Is there anyone doing LASWER ALIGNMENTS on the go? Are they charging extra for travel expenses?

The information I have heard, shops that are doing alignments are not using the
LASER ALIGNMENT tools and are still not correct in their finished alignment. Why waste your money on that old system

There are a few shops on the East Board that do have the
LASER ALIGNMENT tools and are getting great reviews even at $129 for an in shop service is a great deal for the money verses the benefits.
