• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

hi there

I am new to the spyder world. I just bought a 2011 RS-SE5 spyder. I bought it in Quebec and unfortunately, I did not find out how to switch the language over to English. Everything is French on the display. I did get the owners manual with it but again its all French. Does anyone know how to get the menu screen to switch the language over.

Press the "Mode" button until you get to the preference screen, English or french, it should be obvious when you are there.

Then scroll down to the "Langues" option, scroll right once and then select "English"

"Langues" is french for "Language"

Press "Mode" to exit the preferences.

Have made a copy of the RS 2011 handbook (in English:-)) available via OneDrive. Sorry for the weird address but it's how One Drive makes it secure:

However on the change language part of the manual (page 22) it just says "refer to your authorized Can-am dealer". ottawa-rider were your instructions for an RS or RT? Wonder if you can't set the language directly on a RS 2011.

Yup! They do that in Quebec. They got you covered. When we visited the "Old City" in 97, we asked a policeman directions. He put up both his hands and said no English. I am guessing, he just did not want to help us out. :roflblack:

Well I just assumed that it would be in the owners guide. Sorry did not check. Since it tells you to see your dealer. I am assuming the language change has to be done with BUDS. But look what assuming got me the first time. :lecturef_smilie:

When I bought mine the salesman switched it from French to English very quickly. I was looking at something else & did not see what he did. It did seem simple though.

There is no menu you have to bring it into the dealer. The bike has to be re-programmed. Not sure how much This is gonna cost. I want to thank everyone for their help.

I do that whenever anyone asks me for directions. I'm too shy to admit I don't know. :)
