• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lane drift????

I've been second guessing myself. It happened again over the weekend though. Its strange because it always seems to happen when I'm going 30-35 mph. Taking it in soon. I would have taken it in sooner but I didn't want to miss the Indiana spyder get together over the weekend. My dealer says it will take at least two weeks for diagnostics because regular oil changes and things always get priority, and they won't make any appointments so I could get around the two or more week wait.

That seems rediculous to me. What good is it to have your Spyder sit there for 2 or 3 weeks waiting for the dealer to get around to it. Any reasoable dealership would carve out a time for you to bring it in and work on it.

I think I'd go talk to the owner or someone in charge and see if they think it is reasonable to wait that long.

On second thought, it might be quicker just to run down to Cowtown. I can't imagine them treating anyone like your dealership is treating you.

I would schedule the time now and not bring it in until then. I wouldn't drop it off and leave it there that long.

Or try another dealer. To me this is more of a priority than oil changes.

No other option

They refuse to make an appointment, I've asked several times. They get more money when they do the regular oil changes and stuff because they guarantee it will be done that day and work on that non-stop (I'm guessing they make more money on the quick oil changes and stuff), meanwhile other things just keep getting pushed back until they get to it. Frustrating, but I don't really have any other place to take it to. I'll check and see if there is anywhere else that isn't too far away. Of course, I was told in the winter it's different, but that doesn't help me and I didn't know there was a problem until I took it out.

Did you check to see if...

relays were seated? A loose relay or weak battery causes strange things to happen on the spyder. I didn't see if you had checked these items... me, I'm old and "sometimes I can't hear or see for looking!"

Last week the SO and I were riding down an old paved road with ruts and a crown... I told her I was going to blow the soot out of the cylinders for a mile... I took off got it up to 90 and all of a sudden my 08 shot across to the left lane. This was a back road and there was no traffic so it was ok. Now I attribute this event to the road itself because it had not tried this manuver before or since this ride. Everything seems fine.

No matter what... ride careful until you find the problem./Ken

That is very interesting, and mostly disturbing, to say the least. I hope you are able to work something out with them, or find someplace else that is not too far away to take it to. I like the idea of a guarantee to have your oil change done that day, but if you are going to offer a service like that then hire enough people to handle that service so the other machines that need real repairs can get the attention they deserve as well.

Still wishing you the best of luck with it.

Amanda, call or email Carlo and put in a complaint about your "service department". Make sure you tell him that you are experiencing some kind of steering issue and your shop does not have the time to look at it.

His email is [email protected] and make sure you include your VIN.

It is my opinion, but you would really be better off with another shop. This one seems to have priorities that are at odds with quality service.

I have an 08 and ive had it veers to the left a number of times over the two years i've had the Spyder. Usually at lower speeds than yours did. I my case I'm sure it's the crown in the road. I think the rear wheel drops off the crown to the right and pushes you to the left. Sure wakes you up when it happens. :yikes:

Sometimes dealerships do not want (or can't) do some kinds of jobs. Instead of telling you they don't want to service your machine or take care of your issue (which gets them into hot water with the manufacturer) they just make it hard on you and hope you go away.

If this is the case then you are so much better finding somewhere else to take your business. I know with the Spyder that can be a chore. But I'd sure give it a try. Even if you have to travel a ways it may well be worth it.

Lamont and I have to go at least 60 miles to our Spyder dealer.
