• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Land yachts

I saw one of these recently. I remember then from when I was a kid. My neighbor who was a doctor had one.

Ahhhh yes, the once popular land yacht. I wonder how many Spyders could be made from one of these once recycled.... :roflblack:

Those were the days. The closest I ever got was a 1960 Buick Invicta with a 440 WildCat V8. Four door with that big back window.

That's a nice looking Cadillac...

But these were the real land yachts!:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Bought a 1966 Lincoln 2door HT in 1973 (remember the gas lines?). Dirt cheap and it was a real "leaner". A floppy hat and I was "stilling".

I had a '68 Buick Wildcat (Tarpon Green color) that was a real car... wish I still had it.. but unfortunately an uninsured driver crashed into it .. insurance company totaled it ..

Back in the mid-late 90's I flew a redeye into Denver on business and the only car the rental agency had that time of night was some kind of Cadillac boat. Wow, getting into a sea of corinthian leather, with a column mounted shifter, and floating down the highway ... or wallowing, more like. I felt I needed some gold chains and a couple of ho's .. pimping.

Like these? This is an actual house in Encinitas CA

Pretty cool. On the road east from Ocho Rios, Jamaica, some guy built an entire house out of concrete block in the shape of the cruise ship where he earned all his money. You just ride along and you see this huge white ship coming out of the mountain in the middle of a rich (but normal) neighborhood. Wish I had snapped a picture of it but it is on YouTube:

My father had the same thing happen to his Mercury. It was one of the last land yachts.
