• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lamont Speak french !!! LOL

:D  I "studied" French for three years in High School, and couldn't have done a whole lot better than he did! :2thumbs:

I think I could have said "Bonjour, Quebec" and pronounced it adequately. But I couldn't have followed up with anything else. Here in the midwest we don't do nasal.:doorag:

FYI Canadian French is a little different sometimes. We have to translate our customer documentation for both! Required if you want to sell products in Quebec.

Bob

je pense que vous auriez une meilleure chance de frapper la marque 1000, si l'itinéraire a été annoncé plus tôt que deux semaines avant l'événement. Juste mon opinion personnelle!i think you would have a better chance of hitting the 1000 mark, if the itinerary was announced earlier then 2 weeks before the event. Just my personal opinion!

No Bob! He said "bonjour Quebec" but if you listen at the end (although it is in French)Spyder_Dan asks if they were close to hitting the 1000 Spyder Mark, and the lady says there was 431 or somewhere around there. I was intending on going, but we cancelled our room in the end, because there was no information out on the event two weeks before! Just saying that a lot of people have to plan their vacation etc. Anyway I think the fact that there was less Spyders this year then last says something?:dontknow:Oh y
eah and sticking with this post nice job Lamont!nojoke

I was there in Magog this weekend for Spyderfest, Lamont was the surprise guest, he hit home runs all weekend, this event is perfect for anyone from New England and upstate New York, they just have to market this happening for those who live south of the 49th parallel , maybe next year. Yes it is Quebec and they do speak French, but most Quebecois do understand and speak English, Lamont did not have any issues, we all have one thing in common, we are Spyderlovers.

That was one of the reasons I was really hoping to go , was to meet Lamont and Harvey, maybe get them to align my Spyder! Just wish they would release info much sooner, as it would allow more people to make plans and enjoy beautiful magog!

I'll get up there, one day. My maternal grandparents were from Quebec, and spoke French and home. I was pretty fluent as a small child because Mom and Dad both worked so Grandma and Grandpa watched me during the day. I lost most of it when I started school, though, and the rest sort of drifted off when my grandparents passed . . . I wonder if any would come back if I spent any length of time exposed to it . . . Quebec is a beautiful province and anyone who gets the opportunity should visit.

Like German. I could speak enough to get by on my TDYs to Germany. Now, most all of it is gone. When I worked for my last company, one of my managers was from Montreal. At first was a little hard to understand his English, but I eventually got to where I could understand him. He was one of the best managers I had. Got to say one thing, they knew how to party. At our annual meeting I was usually invited to go out with the French Canadian contingent. Fun times were had by all. We had another Canadian contingent from Toronto. They spoke English.

I was stationed at Plattsburgh AFB, twice, and spent a lot of time in the nightclubs on St. Catherine St.(rue Sainte-Catherine) in Montreal in the mid 70's! Great times!

I get up there quite often and I don't speak a lick of French. In fact we're headed for the Gaspe in a couple of weeks and I'll spend 2 weeks in beautiful Quebec. I'm sure I'll meet a lot of really friendly people and eat some of the best food in North America

You are welcome in Quebec... Have a nice stay in Gaspé. Bienvenue au Québec...

I've asked this before that it would be nice for the vendor's on this site to post on their links from the home page where and when they were going to various events. I think only two have taken the time to do so ( way to go Squared Away ). Even better would be one calendar page on this site where the sponsor's could enter that info so we only had to go one place to see who was going where. It would help customers and sponsors.
Great idea! And to all who said they would come to Quebec, please do, it is one of the most beautiful provinces in Canada! But I am a bit bias being born here! Some great riding here in the Laurentians!:doorag:
