• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

To get to the point, the typing is choppy....
Spyder has now been at dealer for 4 weeks. Inside front right tire shows extreme, uneven wear. Followed Spyderlovers advice and suggested dealer look into possible ball joint, “a” arm issue. Service dept. replies that they don’t give any credibility to blogs or websites. Dealer states that BRP refused to okay any other involvement except to check alignment (which is okay). Dealer/BRP states I need to replace all three tires. If wear pattern continues, it is most likely my fault (driving) but BRP is not responsible to check any further into the issue. I called BRP and opened a complaint.
Saturday, went to pick up bike. Ah HAH, BRP is there with demo truck….asked to speak with BRP tech about several issues. BRP techs listened to tire story and said that the ball joint needs replacement. He suspected that it was bad from the beginning, and as I drive, hitting bumps in the road it moves the tire into and out of alignment. Someone (not from BRP) went to talk to Service Dept. BRP tech suggested that I call BRP and extend my complaint issue (done today). Went to pick up bike later (test drove the semi-auto) and the service dept. stressed that they would not be following up on my tire issue, it was again my problem, for which I now have to purchase 3 tires.
Drove my bike 2 miles, check engine light came on and I drove it back to the dealer’s service dept. I had taken my bike in 3+ times to complain about the bike stalling after an extended idle (long lights)…it did not happen often, but the frequencies were increasing. They never could duplicate the issue and finally the blessed bike computer chose that moment to notice that the O2 sensor worked intermittently.
I know that no one can help me with BRP issue; Service dept. states that local BRP rep has to okay repair and does not feel it is BRP issue but my driving issue. Doesn’t help that I have more miles on bike than any other Spyder brought in for service. My bike would have been their first experience of changing tires (for which I will deny them due to charging $400 installation for the 3 tires). BTW, I paid $279 for 3 tires.
Now for the best part: while questioning the BRP techs…they told me to consult with Spyderlovers.com about some modifications I was considering. Too bad they did not have a talk with the dealer’s service dept.
Hugs to all you who followed my thread and gave advice. Meanwhile....:gaah:

So does this mean that the Service Dept has taken it upon themselves to make a BRP decision about the tires without consulting BRP? :gaah:Dealers!!!!

more like the service dept has to get the okay from BRP to investigate past the easy(ie: cheap) way out (alignment) and BRP is not okaying the expense to cover the work under warranty.

Is there a lemon law for bikes? Tell the dealer that you have the right to picket thier establishment if your not satisfied with their service. Tell them you'll paint a big lemon sign if they don't correct the problem, and you will sit on your yellow Spyder right outside in their parking lot on a Saturday with a
Big Lemon sign! nojoke

I'm use to the internet bunk stuff, to their credit there is a lot of bunk on the internet and they have no way of knowing if SpyderLovers is just another blog or what.

I will say you are not the only one with this problem. I just got a email from another member that is having the same problem. I don't know what the fix is but if your tire pressure is correct there is no reason for them to wear like that, I don't care how you ride. I hope someone comes up with a fix and post the fix here so we can all know what's going on. I tend to think it is a ball joint but who knows. :dontknow:
