• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lamonster signs up for Guts & Glory Rally

I figured.... Does that mean we'll be appearing on 'The Tonight Show'?
History Channel, Discovery Channel, Travel Channel or maybe Speed channel from what I understand it should be on one of those. There will be a 11 hour show covering the ride. :doorag:

Awesome Lamonster + other competitiors in GnG

First thank your 3 sons for their service for OUR FREEDOM. I have added them to my prayers.
Wow this is so exciting. You have the mental attitude it takes to survive extreme acts. It will be a pleasure to shake your hand at Spyderfest.
Whoop Whoop for a great, unforgettable and positive experience on this competition. :ohyea:

I know there are lots of well-wishers out there, and a great deal of support. I think we need to look at this from the perspective of the riders, though. This is a grueling journey, with the fatigue factor multiplying exponentially, as the lack of rest and the rigors of the trip stack up to make for an ever-increasing desire to just quit and rest. The last thing these riders need is a throng of riders fighting for the same stretch of road, distracting them, or competing for the available resources. I think the organizers are right to make rules keeping the single-leg riders behind, and discouraging wholesale participation, lest the whole thing becomes overwhelming. We can best support our favorite riders by possibly being there at start or finish, but not socializing at in-between stops, and by pledging our financial contributions to a good cause. Corporate sponsorships to help defray expenses would also be encouraged...as would making parts/repair resources available when they are in the area...perhaps by providing emergency contact numbers after hours. Beyond that, I think we should leave them alone, unless invited, and let them ride their rides. Sorry to go up against the tide, but if I were competing, I would not be too friendly when I would rather sleep than chat or wave.

:agree:Excellent advise we should all observe. I have been crew for other extreme competitions: RaceAcrossAmerica - which is bicycle riders that leave Oceanside CA and ride their bikes across America to Annapolis, MD..they literally ride nite and day...conditions are grueling but the mental becomes the biggest challenge. Other individual/teams I have crewed for are Seattle to Portland bike trip in 1 day. Sea to Sun race up Haleakala (sp). So your advise is spot on. Thanks for sharing. Unless you have been involved in something like this you realllllly don't know the mental and physical toughness that is required.

Really! Lamont told me it would be a piece of cake!

Uh! Hey Doc! Since you're all over the fine print... Is it too late to back out of this! :helpsmilie:

We need a consent for Spyderlovers.com. How about BRP?

Sorry, but those restrictions would never hold up in court. Would never even make it into the court. The event is happening on public roads - and when you're on public property you have no right to restrict others from taking video or photos of what you are doing.

They could only have a case if your photo or video was used for profit AND included specific photos or video of their banners/logos/etc.

Some of their rules and restrictions are ridicules IMO..... but I still like the whole idea and support what they're doing..... :2thumbs:

All this fine print and details! Ok, I understand it's the details that can kill you. I'm not saying there have not been valid points made. This does have the potential of being a logistical nightmare! :yikes: But that is just part of the adventure!

Biker's are supposed to be resilient, self reliant and able to cope with the unknown. :doorag: And I’m wondering if this aspect is being lost in our modern day experience.

But, since I’m going, it’s time to get pumped! I’m not pumped yet, but I am working on it!

Ron, start practicing the secret Huligan cheer, that will pump you right up I am sure. :D

This gets more interesting by the day. Just remember Ron, if you break anything you will have to have it repaired before the G&G run. That is not a good enough excuse for backing out.

:agree: Cowtown will fix you up right and better than before. No backing out. :doorag:
