There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Lamonster RTW Project- New Ram mount locations

While I was in Daytona I got to see a few RT's with the chrome wind deflectors and they looked really sharp. I decided it was time for an upgrade and seeing I had ram mount balls on my deflectors I was a little reluctant to drill holes in the new chrome ones. As I started looking around I found another great place that works just as well for my cameras and I could even mount my cup holder or iPhone in the same place and it looks pretty good. I did have to drill a couple of holes in my dash and had to bend a 10mm wrench to hold the bolt but I'm really happy with this new setup. :doorag:

It was a real pain to get the bolt in from the backside but I was able to do it without taking anything apart other than popping off the speaker grill. This part of the dash is reinforced so it's a good solid mount.

Here's the finish product

This is with my Drift mounted. I have the ram balls on both sides so I can still run two cameras.

This is with a long arm and a Ram cup holder.

Damnit Lamont, another GREAT Mod, Looks Great

If you get time, & wouldn't mind, would you post a pic from the front of your RT with the ram-mounted cup holder on one side and your x-grip holding your Iphone on the other side? Im curious how much wind coverage they would have & can't picture it from the pics you have posted. Thanks so much & another Great Mod :firstplace::bowdown::bowdown:

Lamont, do you know them Ram part number for the ball or a good description. I assume it is just threaded with a nut ?
This is the mount I used but I tapped it out for a 6mm bolt. If I was going to do it again I would run a bolt though the ball and put the nut on the dash side, it was way to hard to feed that bolt through the hole. The ball has a indent to hold the head of the bolt.

Lamont, I can't find the BRP handle bar Ram Mount that you mentioned in your video. The one that has the spacers and the four mounting bolts that go through into the handle bars. It doesn't show anywhere in their catalog on online.

Mine came with the mount but I know the part number and cost has been posted here before. I did a quick search but couldn't find it. :dontknow:
Looks great Lamont. Any handlebar clearance issues in full lock turn with the cup holder?

Don't do full lock often enough to notice but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be an issue.

I thought that I had seen it as well. The cost of $150 seems to stick in my mind. I did several searches with no luck. I'm going to call BRP and Ram monday.

I'm not sure if it is the same one, but on page 55 of the 2012 Can Am Roadster catalog, there is a universal GPS support that is for an RS that might work. It has a 1" RAM mount ball on it with 4 bolts that mount on the handle bar. The part number is 219400331 and it costs $154.99.

Thanks buddy, I'll check on it. The RS and RT handle bars might vary on bolt locations. The price sounds right. BRP always tends to the high side.
