• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Laid off today = opportunity to ride.

I had a similar situation in 1998
were I also recieved a nice severence and had about a year to plan a nice 4 week cross country road trip :doorag:
Will say one of the best things that ever happened in my Life :doorag:

You have a great attitude! Love what Pitmom said. "When one door closes another opens. But the hallway can be hell."

Hopefully your trip will make up for any obstacles in your job search. In some ways it is the opportunity of a lifetime.

I know you said you are not looking for sympathy but I am sorry to hear you lost your job. You do have a wonderful outlook though, and it seems you have done some responsible planning. I pray you find a job, AFTER your riding adventure. Enjoy it and be guilt free. Come to Michigan, we can always find some riders up here to head out with you.
:agree: Great attitude Dan! when one door shuts another opens....Maybe I'll see you in this area next month!

Sorry to hear the sad news. You have an opportunity now that wasn't available previously so GO GO GADGET. The cross country route 66 trip sounds great...Stay strong, have fun.

Good luck, Dan! With those Motolights, you could apply for a night job at the local airport lighting the runways. :2thumbs:

Wow

I admire the way you are handling the situation, I wish I could be more like that. I worry too much about my job and the possibility of losing it! If I lost it, I could only hope I'd deal with it half as well as you and see the opportunities I have...then again I haven't been out of school long enough to have much saved up.
