It is time for a lady to tell all- My hubby purchased the Spyder for me. He rides a Yamaha FJR 1300. At first I just could not seem to "bond" with it as I had been riding a Suzuki Burgman Scooter and now I had to learn to use the clutch. OK, so back to motorcycle training school and I was ready to ride the Spyder. We took off riding through the Ocala National Forest towards the St. John's River in Central Florida. A great ride, sunny and warm, and what a ride I had. Yes, I "bonded" with my Spyder and here is a Lady's point of view. Spyder handled great. I took the turns just fine, shifting was smooth and easy even for a beginner like me, and loved the power. The touring windshield was not tall enough for me and I can see that I would like the handlebars back so as to not put so much pressure on my wrists. The front trunk held all my girly stuff, no problem. I kept up with the FJR with no problem. At the river, I even starting using my horn to other motorcycles to get their jaw dropping. A group were parked at the "fish shack" and they couldn't take their eyes off Spyder, especially when I used the cool reverse in front of the guy pushing a sidecar motorcycle to back up. The handling was awesome and I felt as though I were SKYDIVING ! This is a great adventure for me and after putting on 100 miles the seat was still comfortable too. So now I can't wait to go riding again, oh looks like I need groceries so off I go..........RocketLady is OFF !
