After deciding that the new 2014 RSS was the model for me based on the options I wanted and accessories that were available according to the dealer, I feel misled. The dealer could not get all options I wanted quickly so I was talked into buying the bike and they would get the accessories figured out in the next few days. I never heard back, so, taking things into my own hands I ordered the backrest from a dealer on line. I researched it on BRP and talked to the dealer. Everything leads you to believe the BRP backrest fits the RSS. I mean why not? Well it doesn't. $650 later (non-refundable because we scratched it trying to get it installed) we were finally told that BRP doesn't make one for the RSS (by a different dealer. The one I purchased from still insists in is supposed to fit the RSS). Sooo disappointed I am. I am posting this for two reasons; to make sure others don't get caught in the same mistake and to release some of my frustration. In my world $650 wasted is a big deal!

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

they do make the rack/backrest for the 2014 RSS/RS. The thing is the backrest is no longer adjustable. They have it in their catalogue listed for the 2014 RS/ST and should work on the RSS. Now if that is the one you got it should work or perhaps an installation problem. The others are listed as 2013 and prior. Double check...you may have the wrong one...:gaah:
