• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just back from the dealer...45 miles and already got a name for her...Libellule! Sorry but the front looks more like a dragonfly than a spider (did I mention I hate spiders??). the first 5 miles were a little all over the freeway but it went well after, turns can be challenging (mainly in my head!) but it is a very nice ride...could use a little more umph but wait till the break-in is finished!! Funny that the dashboard is made for young guys with eagle eyes: can't really read anything else than speed, gear position and radio channel!!
Can't wait to go for a longer ride...I hate having to work now!!

Just ride it

As has been mentioned, just get time in the saddle. +1 on the display comment, maybe BRP will offer an old fogey option someday. Meanwhile back at the :spyder2:, good for you, WOOT!

Patrick

Oh, did you come from 2 wheels?

:congrats: Just keep the revs around 6 grand and I think you will find its got lots of umph ! A little slow off the line but once you are rolling its just as quick as a RS .

Yes all 40 years of it... and still 18 bikes in the garage...but now a destroyed radial nerve in my right arm so heavy bikes are a no-no :cus:...so I sold 3 bikes and bought the RT to tour! as my wife says "no vacations if it is not on a bike!"

:welcome: Congratulations on your new ride. It's cool to have San Francisco represent! :roflblack: That sure is a nice color. And don't worry, you'll be riding like a pro in no time. I started in a parking lot, then city streets, and THEN the freeway. Not ashamed to say it,either. Of course now I'm a holy terror!! :D

Congrats again and enjoy the ride.

You will find the umph. Keep the RPMs up as suggested. My friend (rides a 1400cc Suzuki) test rode mine yesterday and came back with the widest grin. He looked at me and said "man! That thing has some go juice!" :2thumbs:
