• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kustom Spyder at SEMA

I have always been one to believe that the manufacturer knows what is best for your vehicle. Sure, cosmetic mods and comfort mods are likely safe, but going from a 14 inch (or is it 15 inch) tire to a 17 inch certainly not only throws off your odometer and speedometer, it might also throw off your VSC system and change your center of gravity, thus making the bike more dangerous.

The Spyder is unique as it is...to me, I'll make it brighter from the front and behind for safety reasons. I'll add a few creature comforts and safety features (mirror extensions and the like), and a nicer exhaust system, but I'll never modify the core elements of the bike such that it could make it more dangerous on the road.

It's great to have a 'more' unique bike, but if it's more likely to get you injured, it's worth no amount of money....

;)
First let me address a previous thread, this was not a "quick mod" and aftermarket is not for everyone, some individuals enjoys something different. The manufacture always provides a great platform to start with and for the end user to do with as they please....With that being said, upgrading to our 17" wheel package does not raise the center of gravity of the vehicle or change the VSS system or through off the speedometer reading because we spent timeless hours ensuring that the revs/mile of the wheel & tire combo we put out meet the standards set by Can-Am. So to correct your statement, none of that is affected. What we simply did is called plus-sizing and when done properly, nothing changes. The numbers are the same. THE BIKE IS NOT DANGEROUS WITH THESE MODIFICATIONS. Forums are for informative purposes and consumer discussion with occasional advertising, if you do not have the proper information to back up the statements you make, please do not make them. It is unfair to the other individuals within the community.:dontknow:

Just a quick question; is there a minimum height requirement for headlights? Those are REALLY loooow.

The lights you are looking at are the new fog lights. the headlights are now the Can-Am factory fog lights with an HID up grade. They more than light up the road. The dealer we talked with before buying this kit informed us that the actual headlight is only used as a high beam in Europe and the fog light kit comes standard and is the low beam. So to answer your question, the headlights are high enough. :2thumbs:

Immortal, thanks for taking a bold step. That's what BRP did when they developed the Spyder and you have followed suit with your version. Sure, it's not for everyone, but neither is the Spyder and each of us makes anything from a minor to a major change to "customize" our machine to what suits us. We need more innovators like you, as most of us don't have the time or facilities to do it ourselves.

I agree.

BTW, NautiBrit, what name do you go by on the Valk board?

Thanks:2thumbs:, we are continuing to develop more products for the Spyder and are open to any suggestions, if you have an idea you want to see brought forth and there is enough interest, we will give it a shot. That is how this kit came about.....

How about a lightly valanced rear fender that covers the tire front to back and incorporates a frenched plate mount with stop/tail light? It would help keep rocks out of the belt and might look better than the afterthought fender that's stock.

I use the same name, NautiBrit, but haven't posted in quite some time. I blew a rear tire several months ago, and have only recently had an opportunity to get it to BigBF to replace the front and rear. Unfortunately, the carbs are now acting up because it sat so long and Bill is taking care of that also.

Gotcha. Thanks.

If enough people want it, we will make it for you guys....

Could you tell us a bit more about the sound system? It looks like with everything included it would take up most/all of the trunk, right? In addition, how is the sound at slower speeds and highway speeds? I'm assuming you can play through the amp and speakers or plug into helmet speakers?

the system sounds great at highway speeds or slow. Everything is ipod controlled. the trunk space is minimized if you go with the subwoofer. If you go without the subwoofer, you get 6.5" coaxial speakers instead of the 5.25" that come with the subwoofer package. If you utilize your trunk for alot of storage, the subwoofer option is not for you. I will have pictures up by Friday of the non subwoofer option.

Any updates, Immortal. I tried contacting ImmortalKustomz through the website and haven't heard anything back. Can you answer the following:

Is the kit ready?

Are the pieces available individually? Prices?
