• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kuryakyn Grips

I received a set of Kuryakyn Black ISO grips that I bought off of eBay and noticed that the part number is different than the one on Kuryakyn's website (I got 6344, Kuryakyn shows 6341). I called Kuryakyn and asked what the differences are and was told the 6344 are for sport bikes and have a different length (he didn't say if it was longer or shorter than the 6341's) and that he wouldn't recommend putting 6344's on a Spyder.

I contacted the eBay seller and was told that they have put a few of these grips on Spyders in the past few days without any issues. They've offered to return them for a full refund (even though the listing stated no returns), but I want to know if any of you have installed the 6344's and if there is truly that big of a difference.
Appreciate your inputs.

My Iso grips are 6" long if that helps:dontknow: as long as they are for 7/8" bars I don't think the length matters. :dontknow:

We have the 6341 on our Spyder. Almost the entire length of the grips was used when they were installed, and I used less than 1/4" of the plastic spacer on the left-side grip. While I think your grips would indeed work, I also think that they will leave too large a gap between the inboard end of the grips and the control boxes on the handlebar, and would end up looking rather funny....

... and Nuthin' for the RT

Kuryakyn continues to be a total failure in support to the Spyder RT SE5 line. The only solution is the Goldwing 1800 clamshells that cause you to have to cut down your stock grip and grind down your SE5 shifter. This pretty much has nothing to do with the focus of this thread; I just always like to grab opportunities to bash Kuryakyn for their arrogance and failures in customer service.

I just purchased a set of ESI's risers, and since I have to cut the handlebars anyway, it will be a good opportunity to cut down the new grip bars, if necessary. So, I'll hold onto the grips. Thanks for your inputs.

I just ordered a pair of 6341's :D...how did the install go for you guys...any tips/tricks?

I just put mine on last week when I was at Americade Bike week. The only problem is to make sure they fit on properly before applying the glue. I had a problem with the throttle one didnt go on all the way....but that was after putting the glue on :( It left like 1/4 gap from going on completely....but I am putting on the vista throttle lock cruise so it wont be a big deal. I talked to Kuraykin and they said that sometimes they have a spacer in them....my left one had one.

They are a huge improvement for me....a much more comfortable ride now!

Good BKM. I'll be installing mine once I get my ESI risers; which should be this week.

Thanks for the info...I'm sure they'll be more comfortable grip-wise and I'm hopin' they help out some with the vibration...I think I'm going to try adding some ball bearing-type weights in the bars, too...
