• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kumho Front Tire

Thought I'd share my recent experience. Was on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a nice
Sunday ride, when I noticed the right front was a little low. After examination, felt
I could limp home. Wrong! Ended up shredding the tire.

No tears shed, however, as it gave me an excuse to get rid of the Kendas and put
on a decent tire.

After much research here (Thanks, everyone) and on the 'net, decided to go with
the Kumho Solus KH16, 155/60R15. Just back from a test ride and very pleased.

To my uncalibrated seat-of-the-pants, the ride and directional stability seem
unchanged, which is fine since I rate them excellent anyway. But a real difference
in cornering. Initial turn in is much crisper, and effort required is noticeably lighter.

Will probably play with tire pressures a bit as time goes on. Starting at 20.

Happy camper here!

:congrats: on finding a tire that you like!
When my Baby needs "new shoes" up front; those are the ones that I'll try!

Kumho Front Tires

My fronts are original with 7K miles but I'll look at them when the time comes. The rear was replaced with a Kumho, and I had 2 Kumhos on a GL1800.

Thanks for the post.

I have 50k on my kumho's on the front

If you have 50k on them, they're worth looking at. I have 13k on my OEM tires with no sign of wear, but when it's time, I will definately consider the Kumho if they are that good.

My 2013 RT has over 25,000 miles. The OEM front tires will need to be changed in a few thousand miles, like maybe 3 to 5000. I'll let the new owner do that. I'll be selling it in a few months.

kumho

Pam,

I have a little over 10k on my original front tires( Kenda)and also no sign of wear. Deanna

I have almost 19k on my original kendas which are just about down to the wear bars and are cupping quite a bit (They were doing this before laser alignment). I have looked at going with the Federal Evo 595's, but will consider the kumho as well, anyone have experience with both as to which might be better?
