• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kudos to SENA and a confession

I have already related this confession to Keith and Melanie (Yol Bolson and Sewonnie) so I thought I should post this before it gets too widespread.

Whilst pulling out on the way to MV I somehow forgot to do up the chin strap on my half helmet. Somewhere north of Gainesville, GA, where the speed limit jumped up to 65, my helmet lifted from my head as the wind spun it off my noggin and back towards my wife on her RT where she skillfully dodged it as it jumped off the pavement into an adjacent field.

Sheepishly, I walked back to retrieve it, plunked it on and did up the strap. My wife didn't even giggle until we resumed our ride and then the laughter began coming through my SENA headset that had somehow survived the drop and roll.

The next day the SENA would not accept a charge and would not power up. The trip home was a little quiet but I missed the usual patter back and forth as well as the suggestions to look at stuff I may have missed. Monday I emailed SENA to tell them about the problem. Monday afternoon they sent me a Return Merchandise mailer and the set went out to them that afternoon.

Today I received an email that the unit is fixed under warranty and is on on it's way back to me.

That, my friends is service with a capital 'S'.

PS: Yes, I have purchased a new helmet.

I am a little confused about your logic about this getting too widespread? So you post it to 11,500 Spyderlovers and about 3,000 lurkers? I had breakfast with you and did not know this. Great that Sena came through, I have two units on order for my wife and I.

He didn't tell the NSA

Some folks just can not keep a secret...

But your comment on the durability and service from Sena just got them many more customers. Which is a good thing. Thank you!
