• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kudos to Ride On Tire Sealant and Dunlop Tires

Riding from Bowie to Wichita Falls, TX this morning -- me on my 2012 RTL and my husband on his 2016 Indian Roadmaster. Hubby says, over the CB, I'm getting a flat and moves carefully over to the side of the road (those rumble craters they cut in the roads around here are no fun). :yikes: Anyway .... Ride On kept the tire from immediate deflation and the Dunlop American Elite tire allowed about a 10 mile SSSSLLLOOOOWWWW ride to the local American Legion post. Parked, called for roadside assistance -- nearest Indian Dealer is 90 miles away; but HD is only 10. So .... I went with the flat bed tow and Indian to the HD dealer and hubby took the Spyder on to his Dr. appointment. Many hours later ... new tire and back on the road.

As the old tire had about a 1/8" to 1/4" puncture it is no surprise it went flat, but we are certain Ride On did the best it could and prevented a complete blowout (we were cruising at 70 MPH when the tire monitor flashed the warning). I know there are some that are not fans of Ride On, after today I do not think any of our bike tires will be without it!nojoke

Just thought I would pass on a positive outcome to what could have been a disaster .... MC flats are NOT FUN!

All the best ..... Ann

That's a great story! I've been using Ride-on for several years on my last three motorcycles. The first thing I do when I get a new bike (or Spyder) is get rid of those stupid weights and install Ride-On. Not only do I have a ride like a magic carpet, my tires outlive their life expectancy. I've never had to take advantage of the puncture feature, but it's nice to know it's there.

Update -- Ride-On in all Tires

An update, Ride-On now in all our bike tires (both Indian and Spyder -- it was in the fronts of both previously and is now also in the rear). We also used a technique that the Indian Dealer showed us to put he Ride-On in the tires as trying to squeeze the stuff out of the bottles is a pain and you can never seem to get the last ounce (at least we can't). So, here is what we did:

  • Poke a SMALL hole in the bottom of the Ride-On bottle; maybe an eighth of an inch
  • Remove the valve core, cut the Ride-On top to fit the provided tube, hook tube to tire and bottle.
  • Use VERY GENTLE compressed air in the punched hole to push the Ride-On into the tire (and I do mean VERY GENTLE, too much and you will pressurize the bottle or tire, or both).
  • About 80% to 90% is "pushed" on the first round and a half dozen shakes into the tip, with a gentle puff in between, resulted in less than half an ounce left in the bottle. nojoke

Thought I would pass this on .... Ann
